35. walther CP88

36. Balkial markov Co2 pistol

37. daisy 717 .177 (still own)

38. b2 (does this count?)

am sure i have forgoten one or two from the list, if and when i rember them will add them to it.

some of the above rifles have been sorry to see go, some not so much, The oinly reason i have had so many is trying to find the one the i like and enjoy shooting the most.

As you can probably tell from the list above i prefer a nice springer over a PCP rifle any day, no particular reason, im just as good with a run of the mill PCP as i am with my trusty TX MK1.

As for why are most of them .22? I have bought almost all my rifles second hand and .22 seem to be slightly cheeper, though no les accurate (and no this is not an item to debate just my opinion!!!!)

Sorry Snakebite, your right, thanks for the BF, it was very generous fro you to donate it. If you ever want it back. Ill blow the cob webs off it and its yours. Actually, perhaps I should set up one of those hopeless rifle kisoks you find at the fair grounds. The BF will never hit the target even from that range!

Right - this might take a while but it's been raining all day so I had to cancel my shooting trip and I'm bored...

Started in 1964 with a terrible Diana thing. The barrel (smooth bore as I recall) had to be removed to be loaded with a slug and then plugge back in to fire. I'm not talking break barrel here, the thing actually had to be taken out.

1967 BSA Meteor Super - seemed really powerful, but was probably about eight foot pounds.

1975 Essex 12 bore side by side boxlock non-eject. I still have it.

1979 .58 caliber Enfield 1853 three band rifled musket. http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976364414.htm It fired huge slugs weighing in at an ounce and a quarter. Power could be varied according to how much FFG black powder you put in, but using the standard British Army Infantry load of 80 grains, it had a muzzle velocity about the same as a .22 rimfire subsonic, only instead of a bullet weighing 40 grains, this one weighed around 800 grains. It had immense foot poundage, would shoot through the thick side of a railway sleeper and leave a three inch exit hole and grouped reliably at two inches at a hundred yards. In nineteenth century service use, they were devastating rifles getting off about three aimed shots a minute.

1980 .303 Lee Enfield Mark 4 of WW2 vintage, a real sweet shooter of light recoil unlike my mates 45/70 Trapdoor Springfield which gave me a hell of a headache and a nosebleed from concussion. The .303 had around 1900 foot pounds of energy. http://world.guns.ru/rifle/rfl04-e.htm

1981 Ruger 10/22 carbine. .22 semi auto. 120 ft pounds muzzle energy

1982 Winchester 9422 XTR underlever .22WMR magnum. 320 ft pounds. Wish I still had that gun. http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976455446.htm

2005 TX200, B3 ( a lot better rifle than you'd think). WEbley Axsor.22 (Very, very nice rifle).

Then there's the pistols -

1962 .177 GAT http://www.airguns-online.co.uk/gat.htm

1963 Webley .177

1966 Original .22

1976 Crossman Medalist .22 (still have it and use it)

1979 Black powder .44 cal Muzzle loading cap 'n ball revolver - a repro made in Italy of the 1851 Navy Colt, but not in the original .36 caliber for some reason. Put a big smile on my face that one and covered me in soot, grease and a terrible sulphury stink. As I understand it, these are the only revolvers you are still allowed to own post Dunblane. http://www.buffalobillsshootingstore.com/muzzleloaders.html

Rob,

Why do you get through so many? are you the restless sort or do you just to try them all out?

My short Air rifle history is:

BSA Super Meteor .22 swapped for radio control gear in about 1978, still in the family, now owned and doing sterling service controlling magpies by my Dad!

only reason have tried so many, is to try and find the one i enjoy shooting the most.

Just trying them all out and think i have settled on the rifle that will last me now

TX200 MK1 as long as i do my job as it really is as accurate as any of the pcp rifles i have had, its just a pity im not LOL

career 707, this has got to be one of the most fun accurate rifles i have ever had 9 shots in under 5 second (unaimed) and 9 aimed shots in under 10 seconds excelletn for the spiners down the range LOL

The one rifle I wish i had was a HW77 Venom Varminter (walnut thumb hole stock), but the guy i bought it from realised he had made a mistake and me being me offered it back to him

but as the career is up for grabs at the moment, who knows what it will be next

At about 4 i had a good collection of cap guns for control of the the local indeans on our regular days out playing cowboys.

Then there came the brill invention of THE SEKKIDEN wow what a tool. i think they put smith and wesson out of buisness at the time.

then there was the old springer break barrel i found in the shed no idea what it was but i got quite good with it.

Then i started to get serious and bought a saxby and palmer galaxy

HW 80

HW 35 E

HW 77 which i entered in my first field target compo in back in 78 at Packington

I now just have a R7 which ive had since 96
