malkiserow
Wrong as it is seems most people drive like numpties now at some time, standards are going downhill let the appropriate authorities deal with the numpties - if they spot them. Taking well meaning but misguided action leads at the very least failure to understand what the chap in front is braking for and then up to accidents and worse! No one individual can change all the other drivers .... best to just drive safe and try to show by good example
Mrs Sweepy
Drivers have got so arrogant about their own driving in the last few years. And many a time i have had some plonker(always male) trying to be boss over me on the road. I find the best way to deal with them is to not take any notice. And when they do pass and give me the birdie I always give them a smile and a wave to see them on their way. I sometimes think that rattles them more then if i was to give the birdie back. To be fair to men drivers the worse ones for pulling out infront of you are women. But if you sitting waiting at the junction. Its always a male driver who will let you out. One thing i have found this winter is the amount of drivers who dont dip their headlights now. xxxxSuzy

Imperfection
Once upon a time i would probably have gotten angry seeing something like this, but im a little older and mature now.Take a chill pill! Middle lane hoggers can be annoying, but they cant help it.Its because they drive Volvos and have been taught to do it by the Volvo technicians. stubby
ok, maybe "slamming" wasent the right word to use,it felt like slamming, but was more of a tap, Im not wanting anyone to crash into me, I was taught, and think its still law, to drive on the left, too many people/drivers do not see the inside lane as a lane to drive in,, they think its lorries only, the two lanes to the right ARE for overtaking only, our motorways would be alot less congested, if people drove correctly, I was going to say as they were taught, but after yesterday that shows they wont get taught correctly,
Chally2
The Germans don't stand for it. They will flash you if you haven't moved in by the time you have overtaken. They are very strict on it. I wish we were to.
Marcus
Im a night worker, and having to travel up and down the A13 late at night/early morning, its a wonder I aint lost my voice, shouting at all the w****r car drivers, you know the type, those that sit in the middle lane doing 40mph with no other cars near them, so tonight, a "red" school of motoring car, hogging the middle lane, Im thinking, as an instructor, he/she should know better, weather with a pupil or driving alone, anyway Im sitting behind, hoping they realise they should move over, when another car undertakes them on the inside, now they will get the message me thinks!!!!! wrong still they sit there, so I overtake, yelling out my side window as you do, remember its snowing, the foriegn lady is sitting there at the wheel TEXTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did the only thing I could do in these circumstances, moved over and slammed the brakes on, reckon she must of dropped the phone, as she went down to around 20mph, still stayed in the middle lane, with around 6 cars behind her nice to know todays instructors have such high standards.... oh, how I wished Id become a copper rant over From what you have described, it wasnt a good piece of driving, especially as it was an instructor. The first law of the land is 'we drive on the left' and if lane 1 was clear she could have moved to it, however, lanes 1 and 2 on the motorway are for TRAVELLING IN, lane 3 is OVER TAKING ONLY - so she wasnt doing anything illegal, especially if lane 3 was clear for you to over take, she was just inconsiderate. In fact you were the one who acted in the wrong through your actions, not her, however frustrating and annoying you found it. A good driver would have observed it, and dealt with it in a positive manner. How many drivers on here sit in lane 3 when lane 2 or even lane 1 is free of trafic? you are equally as bad as the drivers who sit in lane 2. As for using a phone, there is no excuse

MPT1
In Spain if you don't pull in to the "slow lane" every other driver makes you aware of their feelings. Also on single lanes lorries in particular indicate in when there is a break in oncoming traffic to allow overtaking.
wrightchopper
I always drive in the middle lane 'cos lane 1 is for lorries

MC
im a volvo driver as well, but mines got blue lights on it I take it it isn't a police car then as you have no idea of the laws of the road. Since when has the left hand lane been for lorries? Are n't you meant to return to the inside lane as soon as you can? Hogging the middle lane only causes hold ups as lorries or any vehicle towing a trailer is not allowed in the outside lane, so by sitting in the middle lane they cannot overtake you and cannot pass on the inside as that is not only illegal it is fairly bloody stupid
