steve_b_wales
Never had any problems with mine. It's an 8 shot. check it out on Youtube. Type escort magnum 8 shot.
alexr
Entry level semi auto. people buy them to try out the sport and either sell them because they get something that fits their egos or because they give up. I like my escort pump and if it packs in who cares it cost £250 as far as I can remember.

I like my escort pump and if it packs in who cares it cost £250 as far as I can remember. got a camo 3.5" magnum, 30" barrels, won't cycle properly on anything less than 32 gram loads. Use it all the time for pigeon shooting, but always take my trust Lanber o/u - just in case. They are cheap you can be a bit rough with them and no tears if they get scratched. Sqwelchy
I love mine, its cheap and cheerful what can you expect from a gun that costs £325. And its nice to have that extra shot.
stubby
as stated, you either love them or hate them, I love mine, never had a prob with it, Ive got a 3" chamber, and was told the 3.5 chamber suffers more problems with cycling lower loads, lengths etc its a good cheap gun, that I aint worried if it gets rained on, mud splattered on it, scratched etc etc, good pidgeon gun
Dekers
No point in going over old ground, and I think a few of you know my story, but I would never go near one again! It was the Escort Magnum Synthetic that caused all the grief!

Imperfection
Some people could tire with the cleaning semiauto Hatsans need or like others have said-they might upgrade to a more expensive one like a Beretta or Benneli. As a cheap semi they're a good gun. Ratman2
A friend of mine bought one for his wife to start clay shooting, she's doing alright with it when she can get her hands on it   for my mate uses it all the time now, he recons there's nowt to beat it. I've tried a few semi's but I just don't like them. I tend to aggree with alexr that people try the Escort and move up to a more classy (and pricey) semi. Pound for pound I don't recon the Escort can be beaten.
poorpeet
Well I like mine. Cheap as chips, cycles everything from 21grm 65mm upwards, goes bang when I pull the trigger. I seem to shoot better with it than I do with my other guns. Takes 10 min to give it a good clean at the end of the day. What's not to like? ps It's got a 3" chamber not 3 1/2" and as has been said elsewhere the 3 1/2" seem to have more issues Edited January 21, 2010 by poorpeet
Alanl50
Mine was brand new, £275.00, over 4000 carts through, same "O" ring, never once failed even with my reloads which were 28 gram loads, I think its the marmite thing, and some inverted snobbery, I dont cry when I knock it, there certainly rough by Beretta/ browning standards, actually everyone standards come to think of it, but the proof of the pudding is when you pull the trigger and the bird drops and funny enough no duck tape or jubilee clips are needed yet (just for you old Essex boys) Its my number one choice for hide work and when it finally does break I wont cry, if in the three warranty its fixed for nowt or Ill just nip out and buy another one or two as there cheap as chips lol, my local RFD will be able to retire on the number he has sold. CZ550Kevlar
A decent shooting semi auto for £100 a year, i would have been silly not to have bought one.
Fuji Shooter
A guy i shoot with purchased one last week for £50 complete with 250 carts. Goes bang when you pull the trigger so I guess that was a bonus. They feel kind of plasticky though when you mount them but it was a synthetic one. I guess its another example of a throw away world. gixer1
Has anyone ever figured out how to disable the function where you need to push the button to load up new cartridges?? it's a fantastic gun but a very annoying part of owning it! poorpeet
I agree that that is a bit of a pain. Looks like it should be possible to grind/file down the lever inside the action that holds it closed. Not sure I'm brave enough to attack it with a file though! shoughton
You can not help but notice all the Escorts that appear for sale. My local gun dealer reckons they are brilliant. If they are, why are so many newish guns for sale?? I'm not sure that items being traded second hand should be taken as an indicator that they're rubbish and people want rid of them - particularly at the cheap end of the market. Many people start with something cheap and then want something better once they've got hooked. It's all a bit like car ownership, isn't it? I'm not particuarly interested in entering aguements as to the 'goodness' of the hatsan escort. We have one and it's fair to say that there are aspects that are amazingly good for the low price and others that clearly differentiate it from more expensive guns. That's about what you expect for a low cost product, in my view. Rather than just listening to any opinions on here it's good to also form your own! Have a proper look at an escort and try one out - don't rate other's views above your own. It would be boring if we all had the same views though Personally I'm not a great fan of semi-autos - ours is just used by my lad. Maybe I should try it more though as my shooting with my O/U isn't that hot

Hopefully someone will figure this out as it would make my Hatstand a whole lot better to own - And i quite like mine - it's kinda the "underdog" thing where it gets covered in mud and soaked and still works! CZ550Kevlar
Ask your local friendly gunsmith to do it, i had mine adjusted due to the fact it is so damn fiddly trying to press a button and insert carts at the same time, expecially with gloves on.
