FAVOUR TIME PLEASE CHAPS

Please find the following request from PeteTheGeek who is finishing off a website with shoot info etc - (his words not mine!)

"Any chance you can tap someone to write up directions to Hodnet to accompany the map? Preferably someone who has both actually been there and is capable of delivering lucid and coherent instructions. (A tall order, I appreciate.)"

If anyone can help please can you PM me.

A suggestion to the map... If you pin point the ground exactly use google maps everyone can see the exact location and you will also then be able to provide the co-ordinates for sat nav users.

EDIT: I think it's THIS

A suggestion to Markio.... Wear warm underwear, get used to being called "Oi love" and having your bottom pinched !

The ground is CLEARLY signposted off the A53. Look for a big sign saying "West Midlands Shooting School"

Directions here:

any idea of time, format etc.....

Shaun,

I have cut and pasted this from the 1st page -

The general idea will be -

* The charity will be Great Ormond Street Childrens Charity

* This event has been cleared by the Moderators and will be supported officially by Pigeon Watch

* This event will be open to CURRENT Pigeon Watch members only

* The cost to shooters will be a total of £50.00 with £10.00 of this going directly to the charity (the other £40.00 is what Hodnet charge per person)

* Money will be IN ADVANCE, no one will turn up and shoot on the day.

* It will be a Saturday (27th March or 29th May probably)

* It will be at Hodnet Shooting Ground in the West Midlands - >WEBSITE HERE<

* The shoot competition will be over 100 birds. The ground will supply the scorers and calculate the placements.

* Meet at 8am onwards

* Bacon roll and tea / coffee at 9am (included in price)

* Start shooting at 10am

* Squads of around 8 people will be arranged as people turn up, there will be NO waiting around as this high quality ground is not open to the public.

* Each squad will have their own guide and scorer - whose decision is final

* The highest TEN scores from all the shooters for the North and South will be added up and the highest total team score will will the day

* There will be a charity raffle at the end of the day. We have already been pledged some prizes but will need more - PM me please

* There will be a prizegiving and announcement and time for banter at the end of the shoot

* It will finish AROUND 1pm or 2pm approximately depending on numbers.

This event has the potential to be the BIGGEST Pigeon Watch gathering ever.

If we get 50 shooters turn up that's £500.00 to the kids at Great Ormond Street before the charity raffle even starts. (we had 21 people at a small gathering in Essex at Xmas!)

Hodnet Shooting Ground is not open to the public and is considered by many to be the best shooting ground in the country.

This is a day for people from all over the country to come together, put faces to Avatars, share stories, have a laugh and raise some money for a good cause.

Hey Shaun,

There's talk of trying to organise some transport for anyone wanting to travel to Hodnet from the Worsley area.

If you're interested PM Ian E as he's the one looking into it at the moment.

More auction / raffle prices added today see >here<

We have had great donations so far but I am sure that there are more of you that can drum some bits up.

There will be a stand alone information website about this shoot and all donations will be credited with a link to their website and a thankyou.

Please tap up everyone you can :drinks:

EDIT : If you are a regular in your gun shop why not ask them for something back from them for a change. I am sure that many would donate a small something for a mention on here and a link and credit on the website

Are we having a prize for best dressed team then ?

Obviously we know that Markio will already be dressed up to the nines and fully made up, but what about the rest of us ?

We could make it either "regional" or "North vs South" themed..... what say you.... ?? :drinks:
