Nial
Out of curiosity....Hatsan Magnum semi owners... Get hold of your action, and get hold of the barrel firmly...pull/push them apart...can you feel any movement forward and back? Now consider the pressures on the fore-end screw holding your barrel into the action.... What, you mean the little pressure that's required to hold the barrel in the receiver? After all when you fire the gun the bolt's locked into the barrel and this takes most of the pressure. Nial.

The action may be holding the bolt in place until you pull the trigger. And then who knows what is going to happen?

Do you work for Edgar Bros?? theres no movement on mine you sure the gun you saw was assembled by the owner correctly? hatsans to me are similar to baikals....like a sporting AK47....you can dunk them in mud and water and they still work, when they go wrong it's usually nothing serious...and things go wrong with all brands from time to time... they are by no means a pretty gun though! Alanl50
You are all missing the point the choke blowing the the barrels up are a design issue it gives two two shots at the same time when the lead shot and the choke exit the barrel, the so called barrel float is designed to keep you on your toes as well, because your always going to worry about the possible detachment of the barrel from the receiver that why us Hatstand owners never miss and we have all developed a nervous squint why waiting for the big bang theory when our Hatstands blow up, and you missed the other fault our loose buts so to speak why didnt they use a locking nut although my but is OK Well it makes you wonder why Edgar Brothers bothered do you reckon they are Turkish Im going to polish my Hatstand now and imagine its something better a Luxus with 2 barrels to blow up Alan Im still keeping mine Edited February 15, 2010 by Alanl50
snozzer
I feel sorry for the folks who have to buy a more expensive gun because they can't shoot and think more £££ makes better hit ratio...

I bet you are one of those people who turn up at the clay shoot with a rusty baikal and beat all the people with expensive guns aren't you? Classic chip on the shoulder syndrome. Classic chip on the shoulder syndrome. Indeed so, In fact I can honestly say I have never seen a Hatsan or Baikal owner beat anyone at clays........Gun or not if you are a serious clay shooter you wont be using a Baikal or a Hatsan and that is period. It is calculated that if you are a serious shooter you are going to be half tidy as a shooter and therefore the equation is for clay shooting only Man + 'B' Gun clay shooter= Normally a Good shot and into it Man + Hatsan clay shooter= Mediocre shot or quite often a newbie who could'nt hit a Rat's ***......... Seriously fellas, ever met a 'A' class or 'B' class shooter using a Baikal or an Escort competively at clays??:good: I think not......... Hatsans have gone up now to around 420-00 quid in my local, you can buy a new Browning,Remington or Winchester for around £650. Not that much difference is there? You all could afford it if you just cut the wifes and kids rations for a few weeks....... Classic chip on the shoulder syndrome. Its not a rusty Baikal, but I do have a double trigger o/u from some obscure italian manufacturer choked 3/4 and full that I shoot skeet with. Its a classic to see them all fiddling with chokes or getting their special skeet gun out and I rock up on the line with bessy choked tighter than a jocks wallet and beat them The point is I can easily afford a high end browning if I want one and have shot friends B's but to be honest find them no different from my £90 (17yrs ago) lump of steel. Its not the gun that hits the targets its the person pulling the trigger P.S. I am a A class on DTL, Skeet and Sporting

I can afford to own a decent car and so don't drive a 17yr old pile of ****. I can also afford to buy a decent gun and have bought the two that I hope to be keepers this week. As with cars they are rewards for hard work done and hopefully pleasure of ownership will easily outweigh the cost. I shall still keep my 20g Hatstand though, for when I don't want to get my new toys dirty

You must remember from now even though you have one in the cabinet it is now nothing but a figment of your imagination.
