955i
Assuming my application is successful, and following a lot of reading around, I think I have decided to go for a CZ 452 as a bunny rifle. Which model would people choose and why (pictures of yours welcome :yp: )? Thanks Edited February 28, 2010 by 955i
Beardo
short barrel Silhouette for me (.17hmr) - easy to point out the window of the 4x4 and synthetic stock (it's been dropped out that window a few times!)
steve_b_wales
I've got the 20" Varmint (17HMR) :yp:
peek-at
short barrelled (16") silhouette or style. I like .22LR as is nice and quiet with decent mod. both have synthetic stocks, so are durable. Style has a nickelled barrel so it is a bit more durable that a blued barrel If you are buying new you only get one 5 round magazine. If you end up buying one drop me a PM as I may have a new 10 shot mag for sale also consider asking your gun dealer to fit you a new trigger kit to improve on the standard factory one. not expensive. cheers
hyflier
I've got the 16" varmint in 17HMR, I agree you should get a trigger kit for it and it is quite easy to fit yourself. I assume you'll be getting a sound moderator too? If you get the short 16" barrel in 17HMR, I wouldn't advise getting the Scirroco SM11 moderator unless it has the new stainless steel baffles fitted (The 16" .17HMR melts the aluminium ones)
Dekers
What calibre did you apply for, model choice may be restricted by calibre, but the simple fact is you will not go wrong with any of the CZ rimfires!

I've put for .17 and .22, but my preference is leaning towards .22, purely from a cost perspective and what I am going to be expecting it to do. Thanks for the offer Peek-At, will be in touch when I find out (although my FEO has changed which is a bit unnerving as the old one retired)

Colster
I have a 16" Silhouette and love it to bits, I'd wait on ordering a trigger kit as I think the newer ones have better springs. Mine was breaking at 2.5Lb out of the box. Stick a SAK on the end and it's still short enough to make using from a 4x4 easy
gixer1
I have a 16" style and as mentioned by someone above the nickel plate is probably a bit harder wearing than the blued version, and wouldn't show up marks as bad. Regards, Gixer.
SSS
I have the CZ 452 American 2E ZKM, 18" barrel and wood stock. Very nice but not ideal for shooting from a vehicle. Im thinking of having the barrel chopped to 14" for this reason
groach1234
I have a 16 inch american .17hmr as it was the only model available in left hand i believe i cant nock it one bit the only time i felt the barrel get hot was the other day when i put 40 round through it in about 15 mins doing some long range target practice don't think the model will make much difference although i maybe would have gone synthetic were it available in left handed. Lez325
I've got the 20" Varmint (17HMR) I have the same rifle- although it would benefit from an over barrel moderator- cracking little rabbit gun though Les
