bothbarrels
whilst sitting in my hide on the edge of some woods last week I had a thought(yes another one) what would happen if a shot rabbit was left in the feild, positioned as if feeding, would it act as a decoy, and entice others into the field, has anyone tried this? BB. :(

SSS
Never tried it myself, you never seem to dee many rabbits feeding together so I couldn't see the point myself. Maybe its experiment time for someone, we have had a fox vs air rifle experiment and findings, is this the new one to try? All the best, Sam :(
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Rabbits would ignore it but Corvids might take an interest.

Silhouette
Rabbits are good at smelling blood. Any shot rabbit left for a while will prevent others coming into the area.

I`ve never found that to be true, I spend some evenings shooting a big warren and the shot rabbits are ignored as their siblings just hop past them. I've found that squirrels and rabbits are rarely bothered by the sight of their own dead. FM

One of the best "Decoys" going, I have a couple of sites where I leave a few deceased rabbits in the same place on a regular basis, very effective at bringing in Charlie!! :o
drut
I can't say that has been my experience! I agree, leaving shot rabbits where they lie doesn't seem to deter others coming out at all, plus sometimes you get a bonus crow or magpie to boot
