Billy.
Band of Brothers? Not a film, but..... Nial. That's just my opinion
vole
Hurt Locker is ok only in my opinion. Tried to remember it was not supposed to be realistic but when you get specialist bomb disposal people clearing buildings I thought it a bit daft. I have no military knowledge saying that. I agree,Band of Brothers is a great series to settle down with a beer to watch. Anyone watch 30 Days of Night on C4 ? Eeek!!
Chard
It's a good film, but I think it looses it's connection with reality after a while. The first thing that ****** me off was how the SAS all got slaughtered. That was then followed by the fellow SAS being massive wimps and not doing or saying anything, untill they just suddenly get cut from the scene all together. I thought that, but apparently they were PMCs (Private Military Companies or Contractors whatever it stands for). I don't recall that coming across in the film, I may have missed it. I read it on the interwebnet thingey Got to agree, Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers are all superb. I can watch these over and over and never get bored with them Definitely in a class of their own Edited March 10, 2010 by Chard

ziplex
I thought I was on me own when I stated it was overrated, there's plenty better war films out there.....BHD, Platoon, Thin Red Line, Letters from Iwo Jima(?) etc.
Raja Clavata
Saw hurt locker on a plane and avatar in a cinema so difficult to compare but lost as to how avatar did not sweep the board. Both are worth seeing though.

No plot as it were more psychological tension.
Traztaz
Its just a film, and for entertainment value I guess it is OK. I guess I am biased as I am still serving and know what reality is.............. not the hurt locker. The best ever film about war in my opinion is the deer hunter, it focuses on the people and wars effect on them and comes frighteningly close to the truth.
