cocker3
sat down for my dinner last night when the phone went one of my perms had give another farmer my number he told me he had a problem . at 1 pm his wife had gone to feed there chickens (they keep fancy ones )as she got back to the door she heard the chickens going nuts and as she turned round a fox came past her flat out with one of her prize chickens in its mouth . he aske if i could sort it out as he didnt fancy his chances if his wife lost any more chickens to which i told him i would be there in 30 min.dinner in the micro wave for later much to the good ladies dischuffment when i arrived he showed me where it had been coming and going from (it had been back 3 more times since 1 pm )so of i went to find him after half an hour i found a good spot to see him coming from about 400 yrds in every direction. i sat for 3 and a half hours and was begining to think it was a no show when the fox pooped out of the hedge 300 yrds down the track . ( thank **** i had chosen my spot well) .i was sitting on top of some straw bailes (3 high )and he didnt have a clue i was there at 250 yards he looked as though he was going to cut left in to some spring barley but changed his mind .think he had a chicken supper on his mind as he turned and came staight up the track heading for the chicken pen but he had to get past me first at about 100 yrds i gave him a hey and he stopped in his trackes so i took the shot and down he went . now for the good part i went to the farmers house to let him know his fox was no more (he was a very happy bunnie indeed)and told me he had a lad shooting there but he had not been around since december and was very unreliable and could i start shooting his land for vermin . i asked what he classed as vermin and he said rabbits, foxes, pigeons, crows, roe, infact anything thats not cows or sheep next question how big is the farm oh he said 800 acres mixed fields and wood land i have to go and see him at the week end and sort out the fine details so very happy days indeed and worth missing dinner for the offending bad boy ( he was in tip top condition)
