SSS
Just been out lamping with chunkyed, and not seen a single chuffing fox we could shoot! Only one on the road near to a gate we pulled out of. I think all of the grass, wheat, barley, rape and hedges may be winning at the minute, roll on harvest!!! steve_b_wales
Yes. It's difficult spotting them in the long grass etc, this time of year, unless they are looking directly at you and you can see their eyes.

al4x
we had 5 last week and it all depends how many foxes are about and whether you can see them. The adults have made it through last year so tend to be pretty wary but cubs if you find them are getting very mobile and inquisitive. Try sitting out at last light in patches where you can see and think there is fox activity

Vince Green
Foxes are fairly mobile and can travel miles in a night. If theres not much to attract them onto your permission they will be off round a local housing estate rooting through the bins. Or worse, people feeding them. Even in fairly rural areas there are usually estates or houses within striking distance for a fox and the pickings are much better.
