shootnfish
read the post about ear defenders i was wondering if shooting in a hide with your dog all day damages thier hearing espicially as a dogs is much more sensitive than ours. my lab comes with me all the time and my ears are ringing at the end of a good day so i wonder what his are like. he acts like he is deaf sometimes lol. timmytree
Does shooting damage a dogs hearing? I suppose it depends what you shoot it with and where you hit it. If you hit it in the leg it might still hear you but wont be inclined to come back! Oh dear, sorry folks, last nights beer bubbles are still active! Glenshooter
All gundogs that I can think of have built in earprotection - their 'ears'! They all have lovely floppy flappy things that help. That's why I never bring my terriers to prolonged shooting as their ears are designed to enhance noise when they stick up in 'alert' mode and 'focus'!! Ai look at all the gundog breeds, big floppy ears to cover up the ear Bit like an ear defender, It prob doesnt help that much but its better than nothing
