Border Line Bullying.

I found the way a Pigeon Watch member was treated after he made a perfectly reasonable post yesterday quite deplorable.

The way he was picked on for no valid reason was unnecessary.

Making comments to a member using words like “Wind your neck in” are not very nice at all.

There was no valid reason for that particular member to make his ill found comments,

One in particular, is that member had no understanding as to reasons behind that post, thus forcing the person to engage in an unnecessary debate and to defend the reasons to the post.

There was only one reason that the thread was closed and the unsavoury comments removed that is because they are not what the site is about.

I am quite sure that all members have read the “House Rules” I suggest this short extract is quite applicable to yesterday’s comments.

It is strictly prohibited to post or hyperlink to, any material which is defamatory, threatening, obscene, harmful, pornographic or of a sexual nature, or material which would violate or infringe in any way upon the rights of others (including intellectual property rights, rights of confidentiality, or rights of privacy) or cause distress or inconvenience or which do not comply with all relevant laws. You must not post messages that are vulgar, crude, sexist, racist, homophobic, offensive, or otherwise violating any law.

The use of bad language, or mock bad language, is prohibited.

I have had a Pm from a young lad in ref to my own views on the usage of 7.5s on pigeons had all sorts of swear words in it I just replied in a polite manner .

Wind your neck in is a common slag in armed forces I use it when others are talking rubbish which is quite common on any forum let alone PW .

One mans bullying is another talking straight I know alot of folk dont like straight talking folk .

Still there no need for it sometimes.

Whatever the rules, if you post in the public domain you may sometimes experience views contrary to your own. Those views may use such outragious things as naughty language/sarcasm/rudeness etc etc - They are only words. So what if some keyboard warrior decides to vent steam at another, it's hardly life changing stuff encountered on here is it?

For crying out loud as none of us really exist does it matter.

As for borderline bullying, isn't just another one of the namby pamby reasons this country is in such a state?

i have no idea what was said on the thread.but i hate it when someone starts a thread asking for advice, then when they get some and its not what they wanted to hear they start having a mardy and start telling other posters how wrong their views are!..........anyway it might not have been like that.

It obviously does matter as the moderator removed the 16 posts.

Its a forum not a free for all

Quote " A forum is a public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among experts and often including audience participation."

Note the reference to experts!

Oh don't worry about that,

This place is full of EX SPURTS

and even more important,

What thread was it and what have I missed?

Hell yeah! :hmm:

seriously tho', peoples feelings get hurt all the time, you only have to get in your car and go a few miles and you're bound to have been sworn at or gesticulated to at least once.

some people make thoughtless, stupid, or downright dangerous comments sometimes, it's bound to get up at least one persons nose from time to time.

Anyhoo, isn't that what the mods are here for? They'd have a pretty dull time of it if we all got along all the time.

Name names, can't see it offending anyone because lets be honest, I doubt the people involved would be that bothered!

The other thing that gets on my nerves is in modern employment all this bullying and harassment waffle .

The reason most bullying goes on is due to staff under performance and other staff having to carry the lazy under performing waste of spaces .

Managers have there hands tied and cant get rid so the staff take the mick and then the underperformer goes crying they bullying me.

Shape up or ship out is my view .

If members see anything taking place on the forum that they think is wrong and they want it to be stopped, they should use the reoprt button to bring it to our attention.

Starting a topic about it in off topic will only result in one thing; a bun fight. I refer you to most of the posts above.

Whilst we are on the subject though, the issue of "shooting available" and sale threads getting derailed or the original posters slated or the "great first post" comments has gone beyond a joke lately. If you arent interested in the offer/sale, dont post. If you do decide to wade in, you cannot say you werent warned not to.
