yankeedoodlepigeon
Hi after shooting Pigeons is there a way I can see if there is shot in the breast by using a metal detector or similar so I don't loose my teeth? stubby
surely when you breast the bird you'll notice any entry wounds, at least I do
motty
surely when you breast the bird you'll notice any entry wounds, at least I do That doesn't necessarilly mean there will be a pellet still in the breast.

THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
I've had a few pellets left in Pheasants & Rabbits. When breasting I allways swill away blood etc on Pigeon breasts, have a feel. The odd pellet won't be swallowed if you chew & if you catch a pellet between your teeth, no big issue. Do you imadgine all your teeth will shatter ? More chance of biteing your tongue than you haveing explodeing teeth.

stokie
I dont often find lots of shot in the breasts . But then again I think some of ours die laughing . If it looks mashed up then dont eat it . Most shot will pass straight through.

Frenchieboy
Am I missing something? Surely getting lead shot with your meal makes it more interesting - You can have a bit of a cpmpetition guessing what type of cartridge was used and what range the bird was shot at according to how many pieces of lead shot you get with each pigeon breast! Good idea mate. The competition could be called, 'Give it your Breast Shot' (I'm off now )
