browningstalker10g
Many traditionalists may gasp but i dont realy like older or more traditional guns, i prefer modern semi autos and pump guns or synthetic types, i uderstand from firing older more prestigeous guns thats they feel hand made they feel, better but together and more 'solid' but i dont like the style, im curious to know wether people prefer older traditional s/s or o/u guns or modern s/a or pumps? i do alot of wildfowling so im drawn towards bigger bore semi autos that can handle steel shot but on the asthetics of guns i prefer the moder semi/pump models more. **Browning 10g stalker**
arjimlad
The world would be a very boring place if we all had the same taste in guns. Whatever floats your boat is what comes to my mind. I went for a synthetic/nickel CZ452 and am glad that I did, but if I had to part with all but one of the shotguns I'd be keeping my AYA. Dream gun - definitely a pukka english sidelock Realistic ambition - possibly a Beretta EELL like Pieman's if I keep my nose clean for the next 25 years ! ChrisNicholls
Traditional for me, everytime. I shoot with a side by side sidelock, no real surprises there being a tradionalist, not English unfortunately, but a well made AYA 53, maybe one day. Could be interested in an o/u sidelock, but a good one is lots of money, sadly.

Sargeant Bang
Modern for me. I can't afford fancy traditional english quality anyway. I own a very decent Browning 425 O/U but I want to swap it for a nice Escort synthetic magnum semi and perhaps a S/H 20g O/U for driven work (posh stuff!) browningstalker10g
an escort magnum is my truck gun, meaning its nice n cheap and u dont have to worry to much if it u damage it as parts r easy to find and cheap they also look the part and functions very well ive never had any problems with it
Sargeant Bang
Thanks Browning! Nice to have a positive response to my choice. If it works OK for you with little or no attention, then it's just what I need too! I don't want a fussy semi, or one with feed issues. M ROBSON
I'm an auto man as I also do a lot of Wildfowling. Never a browning 10g though, their ****!!!!! Mark. :o
dunganick
i like both modern and traditional. synthetic stocks....although i know they have their places (for people like LB ) i love a nice piece of wood. i do preffer a o/u over a s/s, but i preffer a s/s over a semi. unless its shooting where u might be taking a series of shots quickly....becuase u can reload the semi whilst still having it loaded (if you put one in after everyone you use) o/u with wooden stock and bolt action rifle with proper wood (no laminate)
Cranfield
Your definition of modern and traditional is a bit strange , in my opinion. I don't consider semi autos and pump action shotguns as "modern", nor are all sbs and o/u's "traditional". I have owned a wide selection of weapons over the years and enjoyed using them all , for whatever specific purpose I bought them. I must confess that I would not want to own a synthetic, or camouflaged finish, weapon of any type.

browningstalker10g
if you care for the escort it will last for a long while, also parts are cheaper and the cost of repairs are less aswell.
whippet.22
I've got a bit of permission down next to the island, but my other bit of permission is in Cornwood and I go pigeon shooting near Newton Ferrers all of February after the shooting season (and beating) is over. I also go out with my neighbor and his .22 rimmy every now and then after the bunnies just up on the edge of the moors. It's hard for people my age to get shooting permission, especially if your parents have nothing to do with shooting like mine, but I'm getting my BASC membership in the next week or so I'll do another round of door knocking. Where do you do most of your shooting to? And just out of interest, which village where those poachers from in the 'anti confrontation' thread?
