Stealth Stalker
Got my new toy today FAC Air Arms s410 .22 I took it out to punch some paper targets in the woods, when Mr Squirrel pokes his head out of a tree 40yds away to see whats going on. So I line him up in the scope and gently squeeze the trigger, Thud! A clean head kill. My 1st shot On my way back a rabbit jumps out in front of me 35 yds away, then bolts back in to cover, so I crouch down in the undergrowth and wait. 3 or 4 minutes later he's back out Thwackk! another clean head shot. I think I'm gonna enjoy my new toy! Stealth Stalker

Stealth Stalker
Cheers Browning They do taste good, but bloody fiddley to prepare they've got really tough skin. Flash I'm not exactly sure about range yet cos I've just got it, but the guy I got it off reckons it good on bunnys out to 70 yds. The power difference is amazing compared to 12ft lb. Sargeant Bang
Ah!! Isn't that sweet they love each other, all cuddled up together.. Nice shootin' Tex! That rifle is probably up to at least 25lb or 30lb. I heard that air rifles can be racked up to 50lb or more, but eventually you get trouble with pellet deformation due to the pressure, so thats the limiting factor. Falstafftap
There was/is a company called Stalker Rifles that made air rifles up to 220ft lb and calibres up to .50. http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~targetts/index.htm Edited January 18, 2006 by Falstafftap
30-6
Stealth Stalker I bought a brand new S410 FAC in August 05, tried with loads of pellet brands but could not get it to zero, the pellets were hitting the end of the silencer. I sent the gun back to AA in November 05 (could not do it earlier due to family problems) and had it back in December, with a new barrel. But I don.t understand why a new barrel was needed on a brand new gun. The gun was actually made in November 04 and when I found this out I checked with AA And they said they don't sell direct to retail but go through wholesaler (Rothery) so it was feasible that it had been sitting on a shelf, they had no record of previous ownership or repairs. They give me a test card of grouping which was a ragged hole but their range is only 25yds, and a 20 shot power print out 31.5 to 34.5 using AA 5.51 field. I zeroed it to 40yds with a 30mm target, and it still hits at 20 and 30 yds with no hold over or under. What's happening now though, if I go out with it everything is running and if I take the shotgun out everything is sitting, so at the moment I have not really tried it out, very frustrating. deadeye ive
Stealth StalkerI bought a brand new S410 FAC in August 05, tried with loads of pellet brands but could not get it to zero, the pellets were hitting the end of the silencer. I. Are talking about the S410 XTRA FAC I far as i'm aware the barrel is shrouded and an additional silencer should not be required ..........I adapted a logun to fit mine when I first had it but it just upset everything so I took it off . Yes it still sounds loud but not to a rabbit over 60 yds away ........An characteristic of most 30+ftlb guns i'm afraid SS and flash Mine is zero'd at 50m and I've taken clean outright kills up to 75m ....Conditions permitting . An EXTREMELY accurate and consistant gun in my opinion ............I've used this for 5 years now . Any performance data SS,30-6 pm me and I'll let you know Ive
30-6
Deadeye Ive Yes it is a S410 Xtra, the pellets were hitting the shroud which is the silencer. But like I said why did a brand new gun need a new barrel? Seems ok now but just haven't had the chance to get out with it or when I do have a poor time finding anything. Thanks for your offer of advice will take you up on it soon, have to go off the PC now, catch you again.
Stealth Stalker
Dave G I think the wife would kick me out if I left the kitchen in that state. Thats my shed in the picture, where I gut & prep all the game I shoot she goes mad if I bring it in the house. She says its un- hygenic, I tell her its more hygenic than the scrawny, force fed battery chickens she insists on buying. SS
Stealth Stalker
Deadeye My rifle is the XTRA FAC and its got a moderator fitted! I was un aware that it has got a shrouded barrel, although I think its fairly quiet with the mod on. What is the benefit of using it without the mod? Sorry if this is a stupid question. SS S/S Can you post a better photo with the mod off.. 5 yrs ago you could'nt get a mod to fit this gun unless you made or adapted one yourself so no it is'nt a stupid question as AAs might have changed the design . As for having it on .......well I took mine off as this gun is long enough already, and I was'nt exactly happy with the accuracy with it on anyway . Use 14-16 grn pellets if you want some seriously flat shooting ...Crossman acupel work well but I've gone back on to AA field as i get more shots I have data highlighting the powerband and sweetzone of my particular gun from AAs themselves if your interested .........No 2 guns perform the same but it'll give you an idea of what your getting into Ive PS..........My advice ..........On your next step up by-pass the .22lr and go for the .17 hmr .................Keep the S410 FAC B)
Stealth Stalker
Ive I,ll take some better photos today. I tried taking the mod off but it was really tight and I didn,t have the right size spanners to hand. The guy I bought it off mentioned that he couldn,t find a mod to fit and ended up with this unknown one with a kind of flange nut on the end. He also gave me a tin of Barracuda Match pellets, which he reckoned gave him the best results. As for the .22lr I havn,t given up on mine yet I,m waiting to get a good quality scope from the states (half the price). I,ve got a nightvision scope on it at the moment, that I really can,t get to grips wth. I,ll try and load some pictures. Cheers SS

S/S Spanners ...............This will be interesting ................I HOPE you mean allen keys Nowt wrong with barracudas ,there similar to bisely magnums but they do give an arc that is'nt really flat so your having to adjust all the time ........... Stealth Stalker
Ive As promised (eventually)! the pics of the air arms S410 FAC dose anyone know what type of moderator this is? whippet.22
That's a Webley Prosystem silencer, I belive that you unscrew the bit with the spanner flats at the back to get it off

deadeye ive
S/S I have never seen anything like this ..............My asumption is that the previous owner has somehow threaded the silenced barrel shroud ..............Without measuring mine I'm assuming the original shroud continues past the fill cap by around 100mm so this moderator must slip on a fair way. I will warn you though the shroud material although strong is quite thin ........God knows how this has been applied ...........Unless the the action of the nut and silencer tube act like a gland seal and actually grip the shroud when tight. It's late now so tommorrow I'll take some measurments.........and post the results Ive
Stealth Stalker
Cheers Frank hopefully one day I might be as good as you  Ive The guy I bought it off mentioned that all the work he had done on the rifle was carried out by Ben Taylor of Theoben fame so I,m confident its all been done to a good standard.
