the pelt man
Wild carp in rivers maybe, stocked lakes forget it. you might aswell fish a goldfish bowl. its not all about the biggest fish. Give me barbel any day. Stalking down the river, then one of if not the best fights you will get out of a UK fresh water Fish. Its just as much fun stalking down a little stream with light tackel pulling out a 5lb-er as on the Great Ouse pulling out a 15lb-er & it is most prob a VIRGIN & we all love those dont we. Carp fishing & couch potatoes come to mind. The Pelt Man
mikky
my mate darren invited me to go all night carping...he set up the rods...put up his tent..got his bed out...and went to sleep. after an hour or so i went home.. at 0700hrs i went back and he was still asleep.... four hours later...still no fish..nice collection of boilies though :( Edited January 28, 2006 by mikky
old rooster
Do a bit of carp fishing in Spain, getting difficult to catch them small enough for bait as the moggies have well munched through them on the Ebro. We've been using 2lb mullet and they seem very popular, something surreal to be sitting in a river surrounded by fish upwards of 180lbs swirling into shoals of prey fish. Beats the **** out of carp fishing
Ferret Master
Hi, This is my biggest Catfish. It is a smaller specie. :*) :*) It was caught in a canal in France on a small fish which a shoal of them have nibbled down to size and this greedy one fitted it in it's gob. Whitebridges
That's a hell of a watch FM. I don't like fishing ponds. Hooked a few cracking river carp and haven't landed any.
reddeer 40
Do a lot of carp fishing out of the shooting season, starting normally in february. Tried a few lakes in France just over the border (Lac de Padou, La veille Forge) all the sessions ended the same, no carp. :*)
