nothing wrong with the FN8 but it is a pistol in a rifle stock basicaly, so you wont get a high number of shots i would guess maybe 2-4 mags per charge, if you using a pump that could be a pain. I would consider one of the slightly longer actions FN12 or FN18.

but before you decide i would sujest you find out where your closest airgun club is and pop along to have a look what people are using.

top of my list would be a second hand set up, this means you would a) save money and :D it would enable you to get a slightly better rifle than you would new. There is very little to go wrong with most PCP rifles as long as they havnt been abused.

have to admit top of my list would be the air arms S410 the scope doesnt really matter which one you get as you will probably upgrade it after a short while.

As for the Falcon i have the FN19 and it was about £350 and is a very nice accurate and potentially quiet gun with the right silencer.

I also own a Career 707 .22 again a very accurate gun and quiet i have owned the career for a long time now with NO trouble what so ever other than a power issue when i got it. (it was 45FPE :D ) Got that sorted with a new valve system and a little work but thenit WAS second hand when I got it  Nice woodwork and good quality build Personally I like tham a lot.

I also own a Stealth and a Storm buth Gunpower and Both needed some work to get them to where i thought they should have been when they were bought

Good once you fettle them and also good if you like to tinker as I do.

The Alros trailsman can be picked up secondhand from about £250 to £390 dep on condition and i find mine very accurate for a .22 and with a 400cc buddy bottle doubling up as a fore grip it can get over 350 shots per fill.

Webley raider i had was accurate and well built but a tad heavy

I also had a MK1 S-16 with NO trouble what so ever

I was more concerned about the recent complaints about the Air Arms quality control on items such as the Blueing. A lot of people have complained about their guns rusting within the year even after drying them and oiling before storage

I found a few spots of blueing missing on the falcon and THEY are made by Air Arms now also :<

gonna touch them in myself as it took a bloody age to get the gun from them in the first place :D

As said in a previous post either go to a gun club and see what they are all shooting or find an online gun dealer see what they have and look at the reviews on them.

Hi flash,

To simply answer the question on this thread I will have to say that the gun that fits you best would probably be the best gun for hunting. By this I mean you have to find a gun that you really feel comfortable with and that will cover your shooting needs.

A lot of the time this is an overlooked subject while people comes with a lot of brands and models from different makers, saying that "this" gun perform better than another model. Perhaps, this is true for them but it may not be true for you.

Most of the PCP guns on the market today will perform quite well but the handling of each gun will not feel the same to every airgunner. Some like their combo heavy, some want it to be light, some want it to balance perfectly - some don´t and some airgunners like to have adjustable stocks for a better fit.

I could easy start to mentioned a lot of PCP models that I think will perform extremely well BUT since you have not given some really specific details about how you exacly would like your gun to perform and what type of scope you want on it and etc. things, so I won´t do this. But out from your budget it have to be second hand with accesories. If I were you I would save up and buy new gun instead, thats just my opinion.

Cheers,

Bolta

Only put about 60 shots through it 4 of them into some unlucky rats , the rest have all been spot on target getting consistant small groups .Overall length nice and compact never gets in the way .All reports i have read about them have been good see the one in BASC magazine this month . So go and get one now . And as for being heavy thats just hawkeye being a soft **** . Had the choice of any gun and went for this one after weeks of research .
