proTOM1
Looks spot on just make sure the ladder slates are not to far apart if you just after jackdoors . but good job Ive 6 now but a wee bit bigger than yours only have 1 working this time of year but in the spring all 6 will be on the job . Took over 1600 blackies last year
mark@mbb
you have a ladder type frame in the centre and the crows / jackdaws which require different spacings on the ladders fly down for the food / carrion in the cage and cannot fly out it is possible according to history to catch 4/500 in this kind of trap That big building in the background lads is my shed with every conceivable extra mark@mbb Edited January 5, 2011 by mark@mbb
hambone
It's looking good m8, sometimes a thin mesh skirt hanging down from the bottom of the ladder is helpfull if the ladder gaps have been set for crows.

243ack
I use two - but I find that as many birds escape as are held inside. Cannot get the damned things to hold magpies!. Can anyone suggest spacings for crows and magpies please?.

The problem is your trying to catch 1 bird bigger than the other ,only thing you can do is smaller on 1 trap and a bit bigger on the other

gsm1968
That looks real proffesional Out of interest, how does every one deal with the trapped birds? My mate had one and after going in to catch and dispatch the trapped birds, he was eaten alive by bird lice

kighill
Well done, quality trap. You might be able to sell one or two on here at the right price. Larsen traps are also quite sought after It would be interesting to see how much you would/could sell them for?
weejohn
Now that looks excellent mark. How much does making a trap like that roughly cost? Is there any chance of some more pics of the ladder etc and i only go after crows so would the trap need moved regularly like the larsens do? Paul223
Try a length of mig wire down the center of the ladder for jackdaws and magpie twist or tie the wire in position
Mungler
Nice darts and looks well made. What's the spec on the wire mesh?
