Harrison
Hello, I'm looking for a new knife, so I was just wondering what knives you use ?
Scully
I'm a bit of a knife nut and have dozens, but I think my favourite is a drop-point sheath from Schrade.
Dempy
Several Buck's and a Kershaw, it all depends what you are using it for, but I think a good knife that holds it edge is worth good money!
FalconFN
I use a high carbon bladed scandinavian knife with an antler and curly birch handle. I made it last year (from a kit) and It's razor sharp and just about right for what I need. I'm going to make another one soon (from scratch this time) with a slightly shorter blade. Paddy Galore!
I now have a cheapo bahco sheath knife, nice rubberised bit on the handle, sharpens up nicely too.
Mungler
What would the knife savvy on here recommend for a knife that can be opened one handed? Now I know the government has long since banned flick knives, jack knives, gravity knives and butterfly knives, however, whenever I need a knife I always seem to have my hands full and need something that can be opened one handed. I had a Gerber pen knife that had two "lugs" on the blade which you could use to open it and I could open the knife one handed. Trouble is, that's another f-in knife I've lost. So, cheap pen knife that opens one handed. Ta very, apologies for the derail.
bullet boy
I use a Smith&Wesson SWAT lock knife in the field and use either an Opinel or TOPS Cat knife for skinning at home.
Beardo
Gerber Obsidian can be opened one handed easily - get the non-serrated one though. there's a big thread on this subject already.... http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/141559-what-knife-do-you-use/

FalconFN
A fixed blade on your belt only needs one hand.
Colster
I use a Smith&Wesson SWAT lock knife. Same here and that can be opened one handed... although I generally use a Mora Clipper or Opinel (prefer the shape of the blade).

Evil Elvis
If you want a small one thats assisted opening that is lethally sharp for £5 then have a look at these: stinger seriously well made, sharpen up well and easilly opened with one hand, not sure how they do it for £5 but its one of my favourites :good: :good: :good: :good: Edited January 13, 2011 by Evil Elvis

Salop Matt
I personally use an Opinel for all of my shooting related stuff. The knives alot of folk have I find to just be to big ! There are alot of fans of the frost mora knives but for rabbit and pigeon I found mine to big. But on deer I would say that a mora with plastic handle would be perfect. Personal preference but I would say keep it small and really a folder ! And dont spend much because you will be really pi$$ed off if you lose it chip it or break it.
