Loophole my ****! Why the hell would this MP introduce an Amendment Bill (not that it will go through without Government support) that would have ramifications for all young shooters? The law is tight enough as it is and does not need changing. If you are one of his constituents or have a youngster of your own with a certificate then get on his case. Tel: 020 7219 3000 or email: thomas.docherty.mp@parliament.uk Please don't take this as an opportunity for a nationalist debate to kick off. I'm just fed up of being told how to bring up my kids by anyone in power. Keep off my case Mr Docherty (and your pals) and I'll keep off yours! AlistairB
I love the irony: "The Dunfermline and West Fife MP claimed that nearly 5,000 children in England Wales ....." *** has England and Wales got to do with him - it should be none of his concern. Coolhead
So Labour are still trying to nanny the people then? Poor us! If we have freedom we'll only hurt ourselves with it. Better that they think for us as it's all for our own good. If this idiot thinks the government will let some p**s-ant opposition MP pre-empt the firearms review committee then he needs care in the community. MartB
Someone should take him shooting. He might change his mind after he's had a go. If not, the car could be lighter by one MP on the way back
RC45
They should send this guy to the Shetlands. Why do Scottish MP's think they have the right to Rule England
masterzone2
Still talking ******** what a ****. And how dare this out voted **** quote what the rest of the world are doing If we are going to bring the USA in to this can we take there right to defend our homes with firearms and have handguns back? doubt they'll bring in the positive from other countries so they can stick the negative up their *********. Hopefully (if it does come in) it will not affect the ACF as they practice on military grounds something government laws have little say in that bit for the queen to decide. But I doubt the Torys will allow a Labour(*******) tool(s) to undermine them.
Glensman
They should send this guy to the Shetlands. Why do Scottish MP's think they have the right to Rule England For the same reason English MPs think they have the right to rule everywhere else??? Dekers
He seems to want to blind everyone with stats..so what if other countries have different rules, some countries still have the death penalty! Just what is his problem, apparently over 5000 youngsters have a SGC....SO....Just how many of these have caused a problem......NONE me thinks, so where is his arguement! masterzone2
He has NO case what so ever SHOCK HORROR ten year olds are given a shotgun licence which allows them to fire a shotgun. That would be WITH an SGC holder who is an adult 9 times out of 10 there father or mother. This tool should be more worried about the KIDs who have real handguns and haven't a clue what they can really do. At least these kids with SGCs are fully aware of what the shotgun could do and are 99% less likely to do anything stupid with them. Just like us lot who are ex army cadet unlike these kids who play a video game and think it real.
David BASC
Dear all, Rest assured BASC have been working with MP's on all sides to make sure this will go nowhere!! David
Vipa
Hopefully (if it does come in) it will not affect the ACF as they practice on military grounds something government laws have little say in that bit for the queen to decide. Masterzone2.... I think you need to step back through your time portal! it's hundreds of years since a monarch of this country had any real power. Whilst the Queen signs every Act of Parliament before it becomes law, it would be highly unusual for her to refuse (it's been 300 years since it last happened!) The Queen is nothing more than a figurehead nowadays. She has no say in what Parliament decide is best for our country.... (sometimes I think things might be better if she did! She's a bright woman with her head screwed on properly)
al4x
For the same reason English MPs think they have the right to rule everywhere else??? With one big exception we won the battle Scotland wales and Northern Ireland didn't hence England Rules. Whats happening is you give a few minority areas a parliment and MP's and this is what happens
DaveK
For the same reason English MPs think they have the right to rule everywhere else??? If we hadn't you'd be a Dutchman now.
masterzone2
Vipa whilst I agree that the queen may not refuse to sign in any new law. my point was that when It comes to firearms laws those on military grounds are completely different to he in the street. The ACF are army based meaning 13 year olds will have procession of sec5 firearms of course after the correct training and testing. And if I had a time portal I wouldn't worry about that, I be doing other things maybe removing 3 people from history. don't think anyone would complain.
