Harnser
The hatsun hatstand has had more coverage on this forum than any other gun . Its about time we had a difinitive test on this gun over a 12 month period . The gun should be used in all weather conditions and used with all different cartridges . Every shot should be logged as to see if these guns are as bad or good as owners state . How about a few members clubbing together and buy a new gun and put it to the test . Take turns in shooting the gun and come up with a serious appraisel of this much talked about gun . After the test period the gun could be auctioned on here and the money given to a charity . Harnser . A noble idea but 1 gun has a statistical merit of ZERO. It just may work, then again it may totally and catastrophically fail. It matters not, at the end of a year, and many users and carts, its specific performance will mean nothing. There are already plenty of happy owners and plenty of disappointed owners, this has much more merit than any test, however vigorous on any individual gun! ATB! MITCHF
Harnser, why ? Would you want to, would we generate such a trial by forum for any other gun ? Do you own one, or are you a "closet knocker" trying a covert approach Edited February 4, 2011 by MITCHF

phaedra1106
Almost 4 years with my Escort Magnum, sun, rain, sleet & snow, eley 1sts, RFD own brands and God knows what else. Only problem was me jamming a cleaning patch in it and not knowing how to strip it properly at the time. CZ550Kevlar
Same with mine, works flawlessly as the chaps i shot clays with recently will tell you, maybe 5 guns tested would tell you something but one gun sample would be so random it would go past pointless and poke out the otherside. poorpeet
Why test one? After I'd bought mine I was chatting to the owner of one of my local gun shops & I asked why they have a bad rep as I'd had no issues. He said he thought there may have been an issue with quality control early on. However even allowing for that out of the 1000+ that he'd sold he had had only 6 or 7 back with issues (none recently)all of which had been dealt with under warranty. If you have one and have problems and want to post then fair enough but I keep hearing how **** they are from people who have never owned one but are recirculating stories they've heard. I'm happy with my Hatsan. It's not let me down and you can buy a new one for £325 with a 3 year warranty. If you want to spend a grand+ on a semi go ahead. If you want to spend three or four hundered on an old used gun that's up to you.

I have shot one but not owned and it felt solid and didnt jam
Bleeh
The whole 'Hohar' about Escorts is the Same 'Ho-har' that Skoda's have. When they where first built, they where rubbish. The later models have had a lot improved and are much better. End of.

The later models have had a lot improved and are much better. End of. The best way is to buy one yourself if you cant get on on with it sell it on you willnot lose a lot of money buy a new beretta if you dont like that sell it on you will lose alot of money I have both cannot fault any of the berettas i have or have ever owned but wouldnt take the beretta wildfowling (costal) this is where the old humble hatsan fits, in cover it in mud use and abuse it wipe it down and on they go .keep it 3 years then sell it if you wish ,and any auto will still be worh £175 and i think that is cheap motoring A LOT of snobbery is associated with guns yes there are better than others but put it next to any shooter and it will be as good as there capabilities. i have had issues with my very first hatsan swapped under warranty never missed a beat I shot a long side a guy when wild fowling he said you cant beat them synthetic berettas can ya mate ? kinda said it all beat him hands down on the day pete

I struggle to believe any dealer has sold 1000+ Hatsans in the uk since their arrival, even if you add every model they make together, if they had, then allowing for everything else they must have sold, your dealer friend is a very wealthy man!
