alfa taf
I know exactly how you feel. About 5 years ago I had a mild hart " incident " and had to have a couple of Stents inserted on my main hart veins. It made me look at life in a completely deferent way . I now try to enjoy every minute and not take things for granted as I did before. Look after yourself .

groach1234
Hi groach, did you have a prosthetic valve? does it keep you awake still? Yes its prosthetic but i hardly ever hear it at all now unless i listen for it and its not been a problem since about 3 days after my surgery Its funny though as I have one friend who can hear it across a room if its not to loud. George it would be interesting on a plane or something, the worried looks on the passengers faces when someone asks "what's that ticking?" :yp:
vole
I look after alot of people with aortic valve problems . It is terrifying how unwell they can become . It is really amazing when you see them after the valve is repaired or replaced , looking a picture of health and enjoying a normal life , albeit with anti coag clinic appointments .Glad you are one of them . njc110381
It's good to have you with us G. Does this condition restrict you much or can you pretty much carry on as normal? As someone else said it's great to read about someone with a positive and happy outlook. There are far too many moaners about!

George That is a tremendous story - I had a lumbar disectomy last year, which scared me rigid and three years ago my wife got me to hospital just in time where they found I had pneumonia - My GP had said it was "just a cold". Scary at the time as I was told it could have been curtains but I take my hat off to you. I think the motto for us all is to live every day as it comes and thank God that by comparison with others we are very lucky. Thank you
