redcoat
Hi all, i have mixed shooting on 3000 acres of Gloucestershire estate woodland, my question is, if i offered to take out a party of airgunners for a full guided day, with a midday break in the woods for a brew and bacon sandwiches, would you guys be interested.? I always try to be fair, i know how hard it is to get permission, i am thinking four guys max at a time . you keep what you shoot. My idea was, we meet at my house then i take you out in my old disco to the woods, the estate on which i live is beautiful with a wide range of habitats. For the day i will charge £20 each, pm me if you are interested. regards. Edited April 6, 2011 by redcoat

Salop Matt
I think you will find some folks simply wont consider paying to shoot other peoples vermin ! I know that i wouldnt, i would see it as am paying to do someone elses job. Why not let folk come and shoot and they bring there own lunch but ask for a donation to a charity or something to support feild sports etc.
bigstancwsw
Its a bit far for me but i am sure others will gladly take up your very generous offer.Make sure you check each shooters insurance. Well done that man. Stan.

redcoat
Thank you for your replies, i am just looking for your thoughts on the subject, i am registering with the moderators, so that i can advertise some guided shooting. I realise that some people will not approve, i accept that, however, most people will never have the chance to shoot on a "Grand country shoot" the seat of an Earl, and all that sort of thing. This is my living, at the moment i guide deer stalkers, i try my hardest to give a memorable days shooting, lets face it if you have a good day, hopefully you will want to come back! Clubshot
You can never win these day's Fair price £20.00 for a Day's Guided Air Gun Shooting - sure it has been offered on another Shoot Personally I would pay such a Fee for a Day's Shooting - But I have enough to keeep me going But many have not BOB/R
humperdingle
I personally probably wouldn't pay for vermin shooting, but then I have an 800 acre farm to shoot over, and other places where friends take me out on their shoots. Many others would, however. Perhaps people who only manage a few day's shooting a year. Plus, they're getting a place to zero, plink, and socialise with guys who like the same stuff. Maybe a BBQ would attract more people. Ideal if you're shooting pigeons - BBQ'd woodpigeon is gorgeous. From the sky to the pan in under an hour is hard to beat in the countryside Good luck. cooky
I think £20 is far to cheap for all your offering
FalconFN
I think £20 is far to cheap for all your offering I agree, £20 for a day out is very good value,. It's just a thought, but I think you should aim (excuse the pun) to attract non-shooters (people interested in a taster day air rifle shooting and those who would like to learn survival and bushcraft skills) instead of air gunners who want to shoot somewhere new. I know of places in Sussex where a day shooting air rifles is £150, but they have a more structured day of gun safety, field craft and finaly shooting, they also supply the rifles so they do have a larger outlay. If you marketed it as survival / bushcraft days out - fire making, shooting, skinning and eating wild food etc - you could expect to charge a lot more, especially if you could get corprate, 'team building' groups to come along. Good luck
Dave-G
That don't sound profitable enough to be an ongoing thing in my opinion. The provision of the vehicle, fuel and food for five adults out of £80 per day?, but what if you can only get two shooters on some of the days? You might be better off pricing the day at £100 for a party of up to 4 shooters and put the shooters in touch with each other via MSN or some other chat room site. However my feeling is that more than two shooters is not going to work especially at airgun ranges so you'd be better to split into pairs, swap them over after lunch. al4x
might also be worth bunging up your deer stalking as well if you have spaces

docholiday
I have no idea of the answer to this, but suspect that if you are being paid for taking people out shooting you will need to be covered by all the boring stuff shuch as insurance, health and saftey etc etc etc
al4x
I'd guess if he already takes people out stalking that that side of things is well covered

Blunderbuss
The Tory sickness is spreading the country again, charging for vermin plinking! Not sure what this has to do with politics and not sure that any responsible shooter would ever "plink" at any live creature, vermin or not. To the OP, excellent value - good on you. I'm local to you and interested in your stalking.
dolphin
The Tory sickness is spreading the country again, charging for vermin plinking! could be worse could be the labour sickness stopping you plinking full stop and to the op that is a good offer for plenty on here atb dolphin
