I'd wanted an air rifle since being about 4 and seeing my uncles use them as well as 12 bores. Parents finally succummed on my 16th birthday and bought me a lovely Diana 34 break barrel in .22, shot so many rounds through it I totally wore away the breech end of the barrel. My local gunshop wouldn't even acceot it as trade in when I went to upgrade it two years later until I'd put a new barrel on it!! I'd happily sit and shoot through at least 2 tins of pellets each plinking session, god my thumb used to hurt from thumbing Eley Wasps into the slightly undersized German barrel!!!

Moved on a fair bit since then of course, now shoot a HW100T with Venom QF cylinder.

My first air-gun, like many, was a Gat pistol. Boy did we have some fun with that! :) Although thankfully I always had the intelligence never to shoot things like butterflies with it! :<

After that I moved onto a Webley Tempest and then bought one of those Biathlon Trainers. Pair of great guns, sold them in the end because the fiancee at the time abhored shooting and I was trying to save the relationship. That was a mistake as the relationship failed anyway and left me without any plinking fun!

Several years later I bought a used Webley Tracker for £130 but nowhere to shoot it except in a small backyard led to me selling it to please the neighbours. Strangely enough I sold it back to the same shop 6 months later and only lost out £5 in the deal!

Just got back into shooting and bought a BSA Lightning XL in .177. Just trying to get the hang of that now. Had some good shots with it but seem to be struggling to hit anywhere near the bull consistently now.

Am aiming to progress onto a PCP later in the year and will keep an eye out for the Air Arms S410 TDR when they bring it out in a .177 version.

My first airgun was a Diana (cant remember model) with a smooth bore barrel in .177 its absolutely tiny. I still have it and have a little session in the back garden pliking with it. My grandad gave it to me and he said it was his when he was a kid so that puts it circa 1930 (i dont thnk it is so old but may well be)

When i was 16 i got bought a HW97 which was very nice. Moved onto a AA S200 in .177 and currently dont own an air rifle but that is going to change quite soo I think. Prob go for a S200 in .22 cal and the magazine upgrade.

im also 16 as the guy who started this thread my "first" airgun is my A.A TX200HC which i just recently got for Xmas, ive had 2 pistols before that and my oldest brother had a .177 B2 which is still powerful enough to knock down a rat from my conservatory at about 25feet..anything more n it goes over the fence.. LOL, but he kinda got bored of that and went onto cars so i "had" his airgun n bought my HC Xmas 2005, and i love it! althou the silencer is..well..not much of a silencer!

Hi FM

I only had a small garrden at the time and used to shoot against a pellet trap on the garage wall. This was the only place I had to shoot and the neighbours did become a little bit put out by the noise of the pellets hitting the pellet catcher and from the noise of the Tracker when it went off. It wasn't the quietest springer I have ever heard!)

I remember them also being a little concerned about any richochets. Which is actually not surprising as I sometimes got hit by them as well! The range from rifle to target was only about 5m!!

As for Geordie's silly reply ... how insulting :/ ... I would never dress up as a cowboy, I was always the Indian Scout !!!!!!!!!!! :D

El Gama .22, BSA Airsporter S .22, Webley Mk10 .22 (I'll never sell it), Webley tracker .177, Logun S16S(mk11) .22.

I only have the Webleys and the Logun now, soon to buy AAS410 Xtra, I might have to get rid of the Tracker though.
