Went out first thing on saturday with the Beretta auto to sort of the squirrels. Had six, missed one that ran behind a pheasant feeder and I didnt want to blow a hole in that  checked my live cage traps and had a big angry grey inside. Dispatched him and reset the trap. Came back ten minutes later and found I had another! Also shot a bonus rabbit. Then the farmer rang to say I had three jackdaws in the corvid trap so a good little mornings bag.

Had a rather heavy night clubbing last night :P but dad came back from Tescos this morning saying he had bumped into one of the estate farmers who was having trouble with corvids in one of his new barns, eating the corn, cow feed and causing a right mess. Dad was busy but I said I would pop out after lunch. Arrived at 2pm to see several corvids exit said barn so set up some decoys on a grass field next to it and tucked myself in a hide between the barn and the decoys. I thought I would use my Mossberg 20 bore Hushpower with it being a sunday and the close proximity of the cows. The corvids piled in steady for two and a half hours and as the farmer came round to feed up, I fired my last cartridge to get 60 for 100 shots. Four left and rights and two rooks with one shot made for a great afternoon sport. Farmer was as pleased as punch, and as I thanked him for letting me shoot, he slipped £20 in my pocket to cover my petrol dispite me insisting there was no need. So a fantastic weekend, and im doubly pleased with how the Hushpower performed. The corvids didnt bat an eye to the shots, and often the first victims partner just did another circle then came in to get shot as well. Cartridges used were a mix of Hull 7.5 23 gram and Gamebore 30 gram 5 shot, both subsonic and both killed brilliantly. Unfortunately no photo of the corvids because I left my phone at home <_<

Great result mate! When you get a farmer making a gesture like that it makes it feel all the more worth while. That's the sort of farmer that deserves a good quality bottle on Malt at Christmas rather than just you cheap "Tescos Own @ £8.99(ish) per bottle"!

Very true. And all our farmers recieve a bottle of port, a whisky and a bottle of wine for the wife, plus chocolates for the kids at xmas. The cost doesnt matter when you are able to shoot when you want and have sport like this :good:
