Steve177
Hi Folks, planning to get a new gun in the next few weeks. decided on an underlever. My next choice is what gun. Chatting to peeps, and reading reading reviews, these 2 seem similar. So, what gun, and if possible, can you please put your reasons as well. Calibre will be .177 Many Thanks Steve Edited June 8, 2011 by Steve177
Cannon
Reason I voted HW97 is because I have one and know what a capable tool it is. It's quite heavy but this helps to dampen any recoil. The gun is more accurate than I could ever be
FalconFN
Both will do the job well but it's Pro Sport for me: 1. Great accuracy 2. Great build quality 3. Great looking 4. Great Britain made
UKPoacher
Both will do the job well but it's Pro Sport for me: 1. Great accuracy 2. Great build quality 3. Great looking 4. Great Britain made 5. Easy to work on - no specialist tools required for a complete stripdown or V-Mach upgrade 6. Simple to fit sling or bipod to unlike most other underlevers 7. I've now got one after 30+ years of owning HW underlevers - reason enough?

bruno22rf
Simple reason for me-I,ve owned many(too many!)Airguns including several from both these makers-Bin disappointed by a couple of HW,s(mainly the 95)but never been less than amazed at the quality and performance of the AA brand rifles(and I generally try to avoid anything made in this country!!). timmytree
Prosport all the way, superb quality, easy to maintain, simple, solid internals, easy to strip without special tools or spring compressors, brilliant trigger unit. Can be hold sensitive but get your hold correct and you will have accuracy to rival a pcp.
rabbiter
+ 1 for the prosport, ive had the 97k,now got a tx200,and i think that the tx200 is a better rifle all round, although i did like my 97k,the prosport is a better deal again, than the tx200,so that speaks for itself, good luck with whatever you choose... jason airarms tx
always had german (hw 35 -2 of /hw 80 -2 of and 1 hw 77k.always liked the record trigger unit and build quality, however weight was down side.now since i turned to airarms (my oh so lethally accurate aa tx 200 h/c in .22)i will never go back ,always buy british,aa pro sport mate ,accurate ,power, good weight and gorgeous build quality and looks...nuff said
Polish
Pro sport, it's very similar to my TX200HC, which is an excellent rifle. I've just installed a V-Mach kit myself, very easy to work on too! The results are astonishing.
Cannon
The Weihrauch's do respond better to tuning though

Spanishfly
I bought a HW97K - because I could get what I wanted from a Spanish dealer - 18 ft/lbs spec and .25. Air Arms appear to be .22 or .177 only and are VERY much more expensive. Edited June 17, 2011 by Spanishfly
