HuntingFPS
As title - Do you shoot rabbits that aren't full grown?
-Mongrel-
My shooting is all vermin control based, age is unimportant, we are there to reduce the general numbers, not just the OAPS.
Dekers
Lets not be too righteous here, when did you last hear anyone complain about all the baby wasps being killed when you removed the nest!? Oh dear it was only a baby Pigeon I just shot that was about to eat the crop! You will also note there are Deer Seasons, that means ALL deer, not just the adults! And so it goes on............. ATB! dadioles
When I did not have too many permissions and rabbit numbers were low I would only shoot rabbits that were big enough to eat. I enjoyed watching the baby one playing and did not have it in mind to shoot them. The philosophy was "eat what you shoot". Now I have some permissions that are over run with rabbits and it has became a pest control culling operation to reduce numbers as the damage they are causing is huge. On those sites I shoot everything, no matter how young (sadly). Fortunately I have a local wildlife park who will take them to feed their tigers and pythons so anything that is not blown inside out by the hmr is not wasted. Gutty Boots
Yes, I will shoot rabbits of all ages. I offer to do the land owners a service in the first place to gain permission to shoot, so I stick to my side of the bargain, ( before somebody else does.) njc110381
The only time I don't is if a bigger one comes out at the same time. Then I'll shoot the one that eats the most first!
Wharf Rat
I eat whatever I shoot. The kits are a easy to skin and bone and taste damn good, but I would think twice if there was a big drop in local bunny numbers.
Ratsmasher
On the land that my family own ( about three acres) I will only shoot the bigguns but on my farm permissions a rabbits a rabbit and if it doesnt already eat lots then it will soon grow and eat lots so bye bye bunnies
