saggy61
Hello one and all, I am about to get my fac through work and I was wondering what scope you lot would recommend for a 17hmr. Much appreciated Paul
12borejimbo
I've got an mtc viper 4-16x50very nice, well chuffed with it, enough zoom, but not too much, good optics for the price too!
foxbuster
Got a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5x10 on both my rimmies, can't fault them.
Amexian
I use a Hawke HD 3-9x50AO on mine. Cheap and cheerful, great clarity, never let me down.
Catweazle
Having used various zoom scopes, I think if I was going to buy one now it would be a very good quality 10x50 .
Frenchieboy
I use a Simmons Pro-Hunter 3-10X44 on my 17HMR! It has crystal clear optics, holds it's zero perfectly and works well on the lamp. For what is basically a "Budget Scope" I can't fault it! (It used to sit on my .243 and never lost it's zero on that rifle either)

Beardo
the best you can afford IMHO - and something that goes up to x16 or x18 if you intend to headshoot rabbits at any range (ie keep meat damage down and eat/sell them).

1in9
A Leupold 6-20x40 varmint reticule sits on mine. Great image, light weight, good low-light performance and comes with a lifetime warranty
Ian750
Have a Nikko Stirling Gameking 4-16x50 ao ir. Does everything I want it to do
bullet boy
Got a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5x10 on both my rimmies, can't fault them. I agree with my good fiend above. The Simmons Whitetail Classic is a fantastic scope and excellent value for money. If I was buying another .17HMR I would go for this scope but there are many good scopes on the market to put on a .17HMR.Choose wisely and afford the best you can. Mk1 Man
I have A WTC 6-24x50 on mine with 30/30 Ret. Cracking scope with very good optics. Works well in low light too meaning i can shoot longer before needing the lamp as the evening light fades.

Best advice you can get.Whatever you can afford go for it.Not so noticeable during day but a better scope during poor light and lamping with make a huge difference. Salop Matt
I have a 10 x 40mm MTC Viper and find thats fine for me head shooting rabbits out to 100 yards ! Its rare that I shoot past 100 yards either but this does everything I ask of it !
