tikka tom
escort what they like and and why do people hate them?
Simon123
I and many other's have had great experiences with them, and would say that they are well worth the money (without hesitating), but there are many out there who genuinely hate them for some reason. Some have never own or used one but still say that their awful. Personally i would get another one tomorrow if i needed, but i dont need to as i have one which work's , i've shot 100's of shot's through mine without any hiccups, and so have 6 of my fellow shooters as well . But let me warn you to shop around as some people are selling them for £350 new, while others sell them for £550 ish But if you have a larger budget than this may i suggest a Winchester SX3 as a local RDF told me the other day, that the best semi-auto on the market today is the Winchester SX3 especially for the money asked for them. Even though he said that the Winchester is the best, you have to consider that the RDF is a dealer of Beretta, Browning, Franchi, Mossberg, Hatsan and Winchester, which show's how highly he recommends them . You may be able to find a new one for about £700 and a second hand one for about £500, cheaper if lucky
Mike29m
Coz they r a cheaply made turkish gun and not a beretta or a browning, but then they arent beretta or browning money!
samboy
Ive got one and had no problem with it. Im not too fussed if it takes a knock or two as i would be with a more expensive gun. I suppose its a bit like a Skoda, nothing wrong with them but there is a bit of a stigma attached.
Ratsmasher
Coz they r a cheaply made turkish gun and not a beretta or a browning, but then they arent beretta or browning money! that might be a bit far they certainly dont break easy, probs one of the most solidly built guns for that price range...ish and when something goes wrong it can be fixed pretty easily Ive got one and had no problem with it. phaedra1106
It's usually just down to ignorance, actual Hatsan owners are usually pretty happy I've now got 3, 2 semis and an O/U, if and when I ever need to buy another they will be at the top of the list, cheap, hits what I point it at and comes with an excelent 3yr warranty. Would I pay for a Berreta or a Miroku if I had the money, 30+ years ago when I started shooting I would have (in fact I did!) but given over 4 years experience with my Hatsan semi I can't see why I would now. JR1960
Hmmm a relatively positive Escort post! Like i said in a previous post, never had any trouble at all over the past couple of years and it was s/h when i bought it. Just as an aside I had Remington and Winchester semi auto years ago, heavy, unreliable, wouldn't cycle anything but heavy loads, i'd rather have the Escort any day. Maidment78
Had one a while now, did not like 65mm carts but no issue, 70mm cycle fine in mine and only reduce it to an 8 shot so not all bad. Clean it well and she will work, it is a semi, I use it for rough work, rain, dust, basically she is a tool and does the job well, issues? only one and that is the manual override button that stops her cycling the next round does not work, issue? not for me, sure a seal might go one day but that will be through wear, simple to use and I like it. Only thing I do not like about semi's is they throw the empty cart miles off to the righht and you have to play hunt the empty, hard work if in long grass or standing crops, would be nice to deflect them straight down but the physics is all wrong for them to do that. I agree about the problem with semi's ejecting the cartridges everywhere. MidwayUK sell two different type shell catchers/deflectors, but I'm not sure how good they are. Steve. Simon123
so relly there not a bad gun for the £. whats the kick like of the while fireing big cartriges. Well ive fired 3 53g loads through mine consecutively with not that much of noticeable recoil at all, while i shot 2 42g loads through my lanber the recoil was much larger and bruised my shoulder quite heavily, but with the escort no bruising what so ever . When using 34g or less cart's you can not feel any recoil what so ever (well i cant)
bsamatt
i bought 2 second hand ones, one 3 shot which wouldn't fire more than one cartridge, one 8 shot which the big spring fell out the end you put the cartridges in, lol And my beretta has never missed a beat

daz2202
Mines 2.5 years old and been used for fowling at sea. It fires 40-50g steels all day and had not missed a beat until just before the end of last season. I sent it back covered in mud and all sorts and back it came from Edgar bros (via forsey guns) with a full new action. No questions asked just fixed. So big thumbs up from me. Bear in mind it's the only gun I have that I DON'T look after, I clean it with a jet wash spray it in ac90 and some thick vp grease and thats it... It is my ruff gun and I would never sell it. 2 reasons - no one would want it and I like it

steve_b_wales
I paid around £320 for my FAC version. 65mm cartridges can sometimes casue a jam, but 70mm are okay, with no problems. Also, the 3.5" chamber model is known to cause the most problems with ejecting short cartridges. Mine is a work horse, I use and abuse it, and it works every time.
