Spara Dritto
Do you get primer ring marks around the firing pin holes on the breech face? I know I've covered this before, but noticed the following: I removed a de-primed primer out of a Hull Comp x and also a Hull Pro One cartridge and both came out fairly easily - a few hits with a pen from the crimped end out and they pop out. This made me question if other shells did the same from different makes. I tried popping out a few different Fiocci cartridges and also a Gamebore cartridge neither of which came out at all and just damaged 2 pens I used. This would obviously prove a better gas tight seal and possibly not making these "Primer marks". My questions is, do you get the primer rings after a day on the clays (or pigeons) around the breech face of the firing pins? Either way, I'd be interested to find out if there is a trend in certain cartridge companies Many thanks and I await your replies! Sorry MM, I'm interested to find out, If it doesn't interest you - don't post or read. Thanks. We are always in search of a cleaner cartridge. If changing brand saves me cleaning time, I'd be interested to find out more about it. Edited October 11, 2011 by Beretta Italy

VicW
Same here but remember the case is pressed against the action face with some force so some marking is inevitable. It wipes off though. Vic.

If I don't have any fouling on the receiver then it's one less job that needs doing. Edited October 13, 2011 by Beretta Italy
beretta
well at least you got the stock back on to be able to shoot again. if you get some masking tape and put some over the end of the cartridges this should leave you with a clean surface after shooting, i have done this since i first started and never had a dirty face since
al4x
do you suffer from OCD in any other way? Worry less and shoot more, clean the gun by all means but its a tool to do a job it doesn't have to be spotless to work. All mine have rings from what I remember and I can't remember ever scrubbing them or worrying about them

I just like to look after things as well as possible to keep them in good condition. If I had a second hand gun that was just in "normal condition" I wouldn't bother going over the top with cleaning it. I was the same with my motocross bike, but it made me proud to take it out - (First picture - top of page, 10 years old) http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/171927-pics-for-oneshot1986/page__p__1456666__hl__%2Bberetta+%2Bitaly__fromsearch__1#entry1456666 Edited October 13, 2011 by Beretta Italy
Zapp
To be honest if you fanatically scrub it clean of every spec of residue after every use there is a good chance you will end up doing more harm than good in the long run. paulos
Everybody has it. It's like asking whether anybody gets mud on their tyres after they've driven their car. Yes, clean them up once a while, but not every time you pop to the shops
