You'll probably find that most people will vote for their own provider so it might jsut be a poll of who is on which network. Each has it's own plus and minus points and one size doesn't fit all.

I'm on 3 (which you missed off the poll) which I think has best value for money deals. You may find that coverage is a bit patchy in some places but on the whole they have been investing a lot of money in their network (up from when they were only good in cities). In fact I know live in a small village south of Bristol and still get a decent 3g signal. They are also currently investing heavily in the next generation of phone technology but then I guess they all are.

Apparently customer service (in India) isn't the greatest but then again I hardly ever need to speak to them. I've been with them for over 10 years and don't have any complaints. I also get a loyalty discount and get £20 a month off my bill so I pay between £10 - £15 per month for all my calls, texts, and internet usage and I have an Iphone 3gs which I paid £100 towards and a 2 year contract which I wasn't initially happy with but you can still upgrade before the end of that and I don't plan to leave them so doesn't bother me accepting long contracts as long as I can get new phones when needed.

I guess it depends what you want and who gives best coverage in your area.

There have been a few posts on lately recommending giff gaff give them a go they use the O2 network as long as you have coverage in youre area you have nothing to l lose. I spent quite a bit of time looking at them all and they were by far the cheapest option for me.

I bought a Giff Gaff goodie bag only to find out I can't get O2 signal at home which really made it pointless - could only use it sundays when I was at my club shoot - superb signal

ps - My first mobile was on Orange and I could never fault it - unless you count the only dead spot is at Hodnet Shooting ground.- So Orange sim is back in.

Yep good points - but whatever network you choose will have holes so always pays to check before buying. If anyone's considering giffgaff then look at the O2 coverage map here first- http://www.o2.co.uk/network - I was a bit sceptical how accurate the map would be given that most of it is based on computer prediction but so far it's been remarkably accurate in my area. The saving grace is that at worst you've lost one months goody bag if you can't get signal to use it not sure how contracts work in the same situation?

Tesco is also o2

I would suggest you google the coverage in your area, for example BT that uses the vodaphone network

and so on

T-Moblie is handy as it will auto switch between Orange and T-Moblie as they share there networks..

im on t-mobile pay as you go and because i am Deaf they do an excellent text tarrif called text appeal, something like 2p a text, i must top it up £10 every 6 month :) Ive found the coverage to be excellent. My partner has an orange contract and loves it, you get lots of extras and upto 8 meg broadband free. we both had vodaphone and didnt like it, very patchy reception. Her worst was 3, absolute con artists taking whatever money they feel like directly out of her bank account with no comback at all.

Well i think im going to go Orange, tend to be pay as you go, and its talk with me and the occasional text.

Then unless you want the subsidised handset (you may need to unlock current handset) then the best offers are from the likes of giffgaff and tesco. T-mobile and orange "everything everywhere" offers good coverage.
