Frenchieboy
Cracking video, it certainly brought back some memories! I used to go out of my way to watch any programs with Jack Hargreaves in when I was a kid as I thought he was the bees knees! I have so much respect for the "old school" countryman like him, he really knew what he was about and understood the countryside! That is the main difference that I see between people like him and others like Bear Grilse (Nothing personal against Bear Grilse, I am just using him as a typical example) - The "old school" chaps learned just about everything they knew through experience whereas the younger more modern day chaps learned most of what they know from text books and don't always have the personal experience to support their "knowledge" or the countryside and wildlife! Give me a day with an old countryman rather than a week with one of these modern day survival experts anyday!

Fisherman Mike
ahh the good old days. jack always did good progs. i met him once, lovely fella. Me too went chub fishing on the inlet of the Coln/Thames at Inglesham... in 74... I was 15 at the time ...filmed for TV but was never screened... dont suppose the VT even exists now... Fished with big lob worms with a coffin ledger ( bet you dont get them now) and caught some nice Perch but no Chub. He was filming in Lechlade that week and we just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Great to see some of the old Out of Town Vids...just the Music takes me back to the halcyon days and nights in the countryside when I was a lad...Fishing all night and fishing or shooting all day...sometimes we used to go home for a sleep.. Quality is what counts...
turbo33
I'm so old, I can remember the original sountrack  It lost its appeal for me when the shooting/ferreting/fishing and hunting stopped being shown to be replaced by endless footage of horsey stuff It was probably the beginning of being PC not to show real country pursuits Edited February 10, 2012 by turbo33
