Frank
Back out with the .223 this dawn, from a call i received about peacocks and pet bunnys going missing. The farm in question, had not long cut hay, so a walk along a hedge at day break and moving into position, was easy. Scaned the area with the bins and their, at the corner of the hedge, was Mr fox, casually eating left over insects and worms. Lined up, but it was misty and i waited till i could see the fox whole, side on. Squeeze, 'BOOM,' thwack, one dead fox paced it out ( forgot Range finder ) 112 yds. Back at the farm, the farmer was delighted, as when i gutted the fox, some half digested peacock could be seen in its stomach contents. Magic morning, great to be out. Picture below of the place i was at and the unlucky, but lucky for me fox. Frank.

Tell me , i usually go lamping when the moon is not out, but some friends go when the moon is out. DO you lot think it makes a big difference if it is out or not, ?? Frank
Fair play frank, looked like a quaility morning out alright!! Cheers Eoin. I really enjoyed the morning, lot of wildlife about, hares boxing, fallow does nursing their young, badgers rushing back to their sets before it gets too light and foxes mooching. Frank. Nice one, Good looking fox ! Lovely place to shoot to. Tell me , i usually go lamping when the moon is not out, but some friends go when the moon is out. DO you lot think it makes a big difference if it is out or not, ?? Thanks, any advice would be great. Welshmountain. .22 Mag Cheers. I would avise against going lamping for foxes when theirs a full moon, as your moving around all the time and they can see you. But, the full moon does help at times, if your sitting waiting for a fox to come to bait, without the lamp. A combination of a good scope and bright moon, if you stay in the one place, can be magic. Frank. Nice to see you back on form Frank. Thanks mate. I was off for a while, what with wife , child and ferrets , but will steadily try and get up a tally of the red coats over the next few months. January, Febuary, being the main 2 months. Frank.

kip270
Top man Frank, another very happy farmer, and the Fox that done the dirty deed as well Top result. May be going back to Wales in Sept, the ex brother in-law has had the Pheasent poults, and has managed to bag a few foxes since i was there in June. But only cubs, so there will be a few adults to sort out. (Hope to shoot better than i did in June )
