Cranfield
I have just come back from an excellent weeks sea fishing off the coast of Co Mayo in Ireland. My friend and I had a great weeks fishing, (as usual), with 27 species caught and a couple of super lunches on the boat of fresh lobster, crab claws and mackerel. The bad news was, that on Friday during a brief squally spell, I was wearing a souwester hat with a draw cord under my chin. As I turned to rebait my hook, the wind caught the hat and lifted it, this made the draw cord slide across my fact catching my glasses and knocking them overboard. So, I now have to replace an expensive pair of varifocals, having viewed the world in a very fuzzy focus for the last day and a half, including the drive home from Gatwick Airport. Its nice to see things have been quiet while I was away.

Cranfield
My long range vision isn't that bad, so I considered I was a lot safer driving, than asking one of the Kent boys to help me out.
new to the flock
Glad to hear that you had a good trip.......other than the glasses .........and you probably could of left out the part about a couple of super lunches on the boat of fresh lobster, crab claws and mackerel...........that way I would not be nearly as jelouse as I am now. Cranfield
On this Trip we didn't catch a common skate and we didn't go shark fishing, so I have no "big fish" pictures. Everything was catch and release and I didn't stop fishing to take any pictures of what we caught. Here are a few other pics I took. Jeff and Mary (The Skipper) and one of our lunches. This was indicative of the weather we had all week, as we steamed out of the harbour. I call this one, "The calm before the rough". This is the cottage we stay in. Its amazing how we had 'orrible days and beautiful evenings. Clare Island, which is at the entrance of Clew Bay. We fished the Atlantic Ocean every day except the day we were in the Bay trying for a common skate (which are not very common).
