fenboy
What type of battery charger do you use for your magnet batterys . I use a 17amp/hr battery and have been using a 800mA charger from the auction site , trouble is they are chinese **** and i have got through 2 or 3 in a matter of a few months . So I decided to get a better quality one and brought a oxford oximiser 601 , this sounded perfect , but after putting the battery on charge I went to use it 24 hrs later and it was still half flat , as I often shoot two or so days in a four day period thats not much use to me . steve0146
I use this for mine http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7404355/Trail/searchtext%3EBATTERY+CHARGER.htm Charges my small 7 ah no problem. Its really slow to charge so does not seem to damage them in any way.
motty
It may not be totally ideal, but i've been using a Halfords car battery charger for the last few years. I have 20ah batteries and they take a fair few hours to charge.I set the Halfords charger to the 'sealed' and 'bike' battery settings. This works for me and i've had no problems with my batteries. stu nesling
got a 2ah charger that does a 17 or 20 overnight, seems to do a good job. also good for smaller 3ah flapper batts as it wont kill em by forcing a big current into them. dont believe in fast chargers!!. fenboy
I sent oxford a email yesterday asking how long the charger would take to charge a 17amp/hr battery and they estimate 42 hrs !! not much use to me looks like I will have to get another battery . FalconFN
I'm in the same situation, my second Chinese charger as packed up (melted funtion switch on both) so I'm getting a car battery charger as I've been using a neighbours for a week and it seems to do the job well, although the battery gets pretty warm after 24 hours. I dont recommend you use a car charger it kills the smaller batterys in no time , learn from my mistakes
