Android 'Must Haves'?

I am releasing my grip on Apple and have moved to Android on the S3. Having been in the Apple clutches for over 4 years, I do not know what the must haves for Android are. Anyone got any tips/hints/suggestions? I am pretty competent when it comes to technology, so all the tweaks would be appreciated.

It is nice to be able to do roughly what you want for once!

The new versions of android have an app killer (task manager) pre installed.

The main thing you need to do (IMO) is put some widgets on the main screen.

I always have task manager and powerbar.

The task manager shows you what’s running and lets you kill it.

The powerbar gives you single tap access to turn on or off GPS, Wifi, Blutooth etc.

The worst cases of poor battery life are because people leave these switched on.

Just hold you finger on the screen and the options pop up to let you add apps and widgets.

It’s possible the S3 version of Android is a little different in some regards to what I have though.

Apps.

I use the BBC app for headlines and breaking news.

Ebay,

Facebook,

Google Calander.

Cheers for the ideas. Yes, the S3 has a lot of that as standard now by either pull down from the top of holding the home key to show a task manager...which is nice.

I think the samsung calendar collates info from lots of different calendars and, I assume, writes to them as well. It's horribly clever.

Nicky, I'll check that one, sounds just like the kind of thing that I need!
