Frenchieboy
Top result mate! It goes to show that the humble little HMR is a very capable round when the man behind the trigger knows what he is doing. Good shooting. Well done! al4x
+2 you'll find those who are set against it haven't used it or aren't allowed to, works well if you keep to your abilities.

I'd argue with you there alex...i'd say keep to the shooters abilities - but also the rounds!
fieldwanderer
Which is better for charlie, vmax or fmj?
al4x
there is that as well I keep my shots well under 100 and boiler room shoot them and it works very well. You can botch it with a centerfire just as easily but you get away with less than perfect placement. I had to deal with a few shy ones last night and had a strong wind and a decent range and a walking fox to contend with and did get it a bit far back, but the .243 you get away with it the second was a peach though. HMR there is no room for error though I have a German wire haired muppet who quite likes you to botch shots Which is better for charlie, vmax or fmj? you shouldn't be using fmj on live animals full stop. If you mean 17gr vs 20 then its the vmax every time.

bullet boy
Well done Mark! You never forget your first Fox.The .17HMR is a lovely calibre for Short Range Foxes with correct shot placement!
Brown Sauce
Nice work Mark, the hmr is a very capable round and the CZ is a lovely gun. I use CCI 20gr game points 100% of the time and have yet to hear any complaints from waskally wabbits nor Charlie. ATB BS
