finally my first fox with the HMR

Hi all i'm chuffed to bits, owlsurfer and my self went out on Sunday night as the farmer was cutting the last wheat fields nothing going on so had a walk to a hay field that was cut 2 weeks ago Colin had a scan of the field that and bingo 2 sets of eyes in the hedge so we walked to the top of the field climbed over the gate and got in position a few squeaks and it come bounding yp the field stopped 110yds bang one dead vixen :) :).

there is that as well I keep my shots well under 100 and boiler room shoot them and it works very well. You can botch it with a centerfire just as easily but you get away with less than perfect placement. I had to deal with a few shy ones last night and had a strong wind and a decent range and a walking fox to contend with and did get it a bit far back, but the .243 you get away with it the second was a peach though. HMR there is no room for error though I have a German wire haired muppet who quite likes you to botch shots :rolleyes:

 

Which is better for charlie, vmax or fmj?

 

you shouldn't be using fmj on live animals full stop.

 

If you mean 17gr vs 20 then its the vmax every time.
