Lord Geordie
White fleshy mushroom with slight yellowing in the centre of the cap, light pink -greyish gills and when breaking the stem from a sealed cap a strong almond smell. Growing in between trees on the ground and grow to around 6" diameter. Thanks.

Muggins.
I googled ....White fleshy mushroom with slight yellowing in the centre of the cap, light pink -greyish gills and when breaking the stem from a sealed cap a strong almond smell. Don`t take my word for it but look up Horse mushroom. There is a dangerous look a like.
Highbird70
PLEASE..... Before even think to eat them, you need to be 110% sure of what type of mushroom it is...if in doubt throw them away, it as taken many years to reconize some...and I only eat a few type. You don't want to end up in hospital with liver damage
Beardo
definitely need a photograph to get a better idea, also where was it growing? Does the flesh stain a colour when you break it? Could be a Yellow Stainer - which looks like a Horse mushroom, only it's poisonous!
Paul223
Why on earth would you want to eat something which could potentially be poisonous? Rabbit is so much more tasty! Edited October 24, 2012 by Paul223

Dougy
Agaricus xanthodermus, not all people are affected by this mushroom by the way. But to go through stomach cramps hot sweating to find out isnt really worth it, better off going to Sainsburys.

Doc Holliday
I found this - http://morrie2.wordpress.com/2010/03/20/agaricus-arvensis-almond-mushroom/ but I thought the horse mushroom usually smelled of aniseed. Not Yellow Stainer as they smell of Carbollic, especially when being cooked (did that earlier this year). Definately get to positively identify half a dozen easy to recognise ones like shaggy ink cap,Boletes (ceps, dark cep, oak bolete), cauliflour fungus, saffron milk cap, Deceivers (both Amythist and common), horse mushroom (but only if it ticks all the boxes), giant puff ball, St. Georges Shroom (usually the only white gilled one found in March/April), Chanterelle, blewits (wood & feild). If you haven't already, get a copy of John Wright's mushroom book (River Cottage Handbook No.1). Not too big and very comprehensive and dispells a lot of the old wives tales where funghi are concerned. Put it on your Xmas wish list. Dougy
I have a few books on fungi, and i would love to go and pick, eat cook with the numerous types i see around, but i have one major drawback, I am disabled, hugely to the point i could quite possibly make a fatal mistake, i am colour blind !!! And not being able to tell the difference in colour of some of them is very frustrating
FalconFN
The only fungi that I find that I'm confident in eating are burgundy truffles and giant puffballs, I'm even wary of field mushrooms. As said you've got to be 110% sure or don't eat.

Dougy
Bliney dougy, if I'd known that I would have worn more than just an orange hat in Croatia I have problems seeing orange in a woodland coloured type area, bright green, yellow on the other hand i can see ok, you should be ok though, just lay off the pies for a few weeks though
