tikka.223
Got a call from a farmer at the beginning of the week saying he had a bit of a fox problem. So me and my mate took a trip out on Tuesday night, good night for it cloudy and a nice wind. Come up on a field where the farmer says there was a dead sheep,so quick flash on the sheep and sure enough there was three foxes having supper. So my mate got ready and on with the lamp and bang one down.We decided to wait and see if anymore came in to the sheep carcass after waiting about an hour there was another fox trotting in,so this was my turn, bang number two in the bag and just in time as the rain came on. So two down and one happy farmer. Both taken with .223 first one at 140 yards second one at 160 yards. tikka.223
Can i ask were they facing you or were they broadside shots ? You certainly can. First one as shoot facing the shooter,it was sitting and hit in the chest and the exit is half way down the centre of the spine, resulting in about a 3 inch exit hole. Second one was hit in the engine room, due to the angle of the shot it exited out the stomach. Both dropped dead on the spot.
