mad1
Hi all can I personally say thank you to daz for doing the presentation last night !! I was a real eye opener to how many good cut you can get from a deer and how little waste there is ( when you know what you are doing ;-) Also thank you to who ever it was who donated the deer !! It was also nice to have a bit crack with fellow Pw members and watch them have a go linking sausages and prepping the meats ( and washing up!! You know who you are ;-) ) And a big thank you to Ian his boss and to his wife for making the spread ( I should have brought more mars bar cake home lol ) And finally thanks for sharpening my knife and for trying to sharpen shauns butter knife Again thanks it was really good From this southern northerner ? shaun4860
Many thanks Dave It was a pleasure to watch a real craftsman at work, I can only second what has ben said (apart from my VERY sharp butter knife) Daz actually hid it so I forgot to take it home, but I sussed him out, and will be picking it up (carefully cos its sharp!!!) when arranged The spread was fantastic and apologies for not being able to put a bigger dent in it. The only down side was that were not a few more people turning up, it was very educational.... Also +1 thanks to whoever donated the deer, Blackbart I think?? We all got to take some VERY nice cuts and joints of meat home. And for anyone who gets the chance to go to one of these nights, make a point of going, its well worth it Once again many thanks Dave Daz.... joe1978
At the risk of repeating what has already been said, THANKS DAZ!! It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and even though we kept Daz far to late it was much appreciated and worth every minute. Two problems though...My missus has major cake envy at Mrs Rabbiters superb chocolate cake and I'm now going to have to get a bigger freezer! :innocent: In all seriousness if in the future this is done again I would encourage anyone to go and you will learn something new! Cheers again Joe

joe1978
I can confirm this. Had the chorizo stuffed venison on Sunday which was suburb and made deer-in-the-hole last night with the sausages last night and it was damn tasty. (the wife's yorkshire was a tad stodgy but that's not Daz's fault!!). Joe

Blackbart
I wish i could have got there, sounds very good. I learned my butchery skills at the hunt kennels and hounds are not really that fussy on what cut they get.
