well done T33 :good: that's a very tidy group, and yes I can confirm the distance from firing to target is 40 yards :good:and also a well done to evo,a couple of tidy groups too mate, if you stick to your favourite pellet, 14 into a 5p group at 40 yards will not be a problem :good: so re-holster your pistols chaps  no need for anymore shoot outs,i think this is a fitting end to a heated thread   BB

Evo quote

ps can i just say something,on watching the video a second time it does look to me that you have just fired 14 shots off consecutivly(spealt wrong i know) which did not hit your intended target,of a 5p sized target you have just fired your rifle in the same spot 14 times(if you understand what i,m saying,) unquote

Yes get your point Evo. I didn't bother to check and zero on the revised distance of 40yds. Hence the pellets dropped low. What I actually did was aim exactly for the bull with every shot therfore giving the 5p sized group. Much the same as Si Pittway did in the vid above with the wind playing its part. Its kind of academic really, because had I zero'd to the bull the results would be the same group wise just higher and therefore on the mark. It was just too dam cold to faff around zeroing first  And the point was to get 14 shots into a 5p sized group.

Thanks for your gracious replies Evo, its become a good thread and I'm glad the mods let it run so it has become a bit of a challenge for each other. :good: :good:

well chaps as promised, here is the video of my attempt to put 14 pellets into a 5p sized target set at a distance of 40yrds, conditions where not great as the wind was not strong but gusting from right to left

I had to try it just to see if i could do it,the video explains everything, please remember i am using .22 pellets and not .177, the target is exactly the same size as a 5p piece

if you think your rifle is accurate then just have a go, you will then see just how difficult this really is

anyway i wont go on any longer watch the video to see how i get on,,all the best EVO

Well we've seen it done, it's not beyond the capabilities of quite a few people.

More importantly it goes to prove how much airgunners strive for ultimate accuracy, 18mm at 40 yards is equivalent to 45 mm at 100 yards, not many rimmies or centrefires are up to that.

Add in the humour that we had after a bad start and this thread has done well.

Roll on the next challenge!

Wow.... I go away for a few days and come back and we have this amazing thread.

Sorry for not getting back to the post earlier but life and work have their demands. I shall be creating a video next weekend which will demonstrate that 14 into a 5p piece is not easy but not impossible. Would love to do it this weekend but I have the kids so not possible. The shot will be taken from my lounge door - through the lounge to the back garden which is exactly 41 yards. I will try and film this using two cameras - one with me and one on the target and will then post both...... you can then make your own minds up.

Some great videos have been posted and all show some great shooting but as I posted the statement first I think I should post my effort. Sorry you have to wait but family life come first.

Happy shooting.
