barrold
Evening all After several very cold, wet mornings on the marsh i've decided its time to get rid of the old daiwa waders and prologic jacket. I've read some reviews and i've got my eye on a pair of drake est waders and a jacket but it doesn't look like they'll deliver from the drake website to the uk Does anyone have any idea where i might be able to purchase drake gear? Cheers
WelshAndy
Have you tried eBay.com? Few sellers on there that sell drake waterfowl stuff and ship to the Uk.

mudpatten
It might be worth mentioning that Rivers West gear is undoubtedly waterproof. However, nowhere that I can find in it`s advertising blurb does it purport to be "breathable." Hence is`t other name, "Rivers of sweat." barrold
I've heard and read mixed reports on rivers west. Lots of lads have mentioned its not breathable and i've heard the zip can be hard work. I'll have a look into the jack orton stuff. Few people have also said deerhunter stuff is ok
Big Mat
That big jacket of mine is Herter one that i got from Cabelas. I've heard a few others with them that rate the jacket Edited January 10, 2013 by Big Mat
andrewluke
i think the "breathable" tag is a bit of a gimmick,i have quite a few jackets which were "breathable" but always seemed to get wetter on the inside than the outside, andrew
Fal
The Rivers West is certainly not breathable! The inside of my Smock is soaking wet after a long walk, but they are very waterproof, they do hold a hell of a lot of water and weigh a tonne when wet. I have left mine hanging up for four days and its still not dry, you need to tumble dry them quite often. If you wear chest waders, get something that zips up the front rather than the smock, or anything similar, going to the toilet out on the marsh with something that has to come back over your head covered in mud and soaking wet isn't great, getting it back on, even more fun. jamesneale89
Some body needs to invent cheat waders with a zip!! Now that's a plan!!
tony51
Some body needs to invent cheat waders with a zip!! Now that's a plan!! Thought about a solution to this after to many cups of tea these cold mornings.I reckon if the velcro straps were longer and joined down at the waist then the waders could be pulled down far enough and the straps wont disapear down your back!gonna get the wife on extensions to test my brilliant theory lol. BTW my Jack Pike purchased this season hasnt let a drop in...brilliant jacket and warm.
jamesneale89
It wouldn't be hard to make a zip like the rivers weat jacket with a rubber waterproof liner behind zip may email a few of my friends and see if they can do this with a few they make:) see if it works
