Not really I just find they make the perfect shooting vehicle.

The answer to this one though depends a bit on budget, the newer pickups do vary a bit the newer l200's when you get the more powerful engine are 35 plus in real life, rangers you have to buy nearly new for that. Navaras aren't far off or the hilux more is down to the driver. Everyone and their dog will say hilux but it very much depends on budget they don't depreciate fast enough to make a good second hand buy. So really the best advice is shop about and test drive a few and see what takes your fancy

It's a shame as the disco when it's all good is one of the best vehicles I've drove, but I seem to have problems after problems so far in past 4 month I've spent almost 2000 on repairs had it 3 yrs and must of put at least 3500 maybe more now into it.

Will get 10'000 + for px and could poss add 5 to it so maybe 15 budget.

I had a 57 navara from new, did 65k in it without any trouble and sold it 6 months ago. When test driving at the time, I found the nav felt most like a car to drive and was the most comfortable for long journeys. The hilux felt a lot more like a work horse. I got on average 32.8 mpg from the navara, I believe getting them superchiped has a positive effect on mpg's if not heavy footed. The insurance wasn't too bad, was paying approx £500 fully comp.

hope that helps, Phil

Mate just messing about.

You know I looked at pick ups myself but what swung it for me was the extra comfort and finish on the Disco because I drive it every day.

Cos - c'mon, in reality you know it was because L200's are driven by homosexuals for dogging :yp:

I drive a navara 58 plate and do 600-800 miles per week,i average 32-33 mpg,it is the most comfortable works vehicle i have ever driven,i pay about £700 for business insurance, private insurance will be a lot less, got to say i will get another one when this gives up.

I know you are it's all different cars for different needs, I must say mine is day to day transport with the difference when we've had a good nights foxing it's only the pickup bed that stinks and contains claret. I must resist parking it outside the local lib dem councillors house at that point but always hard. She has never talked to me since catching me unloading a roe buck one evening! That's the main thing with pickups if you have dogs or shoot larger game it sure helps keep the vehicle clean inside.

i have a hilux vx280 it has 135000 on the clock now with not many problems at all i am getting roughly about 35mpg depending on how you drive it it dose everything i want it to i service it every 5000 at a cost of around £30 fillters and oil. Insurence i think i pay £365 fully comp for bis and private use and £200 per year road tax.
