Well the thread cetainly brought out the smug self righteous tits who have never put a foot wrong in their lives, didn't it :whistling:

I hope that wasn't aimed at me... Perhaps you'd feel differently if it was your family who were involved under similar circumstances... You don't have to look into the eyes of a son whose life has been torn apart nor do you have to look into the eyes of a father who will never see his son again.... Smug doesn't even figure pal!

I don't think u should ever own a gun again, bit harsh maybe but shotguns are not toys and u have already proved that u can act like a total xxxx in a moment of madness in a car so what's stopping u next time with a gun in your hands, sorry but I think they did good with the sgc

You never did anything wrong, or made any mistakes in your teens?? Never drove a car in a way you wouldn't now just after you passed your test? Give the guy a break, he's young, messed up, admitted it, and paid for it.

We have all done stupid things as kids.

I know what your saying mate but when u own a shotgun u can't afford to do stupid things

This is very true, but no-one came to harm that we know of, the lad is contrite and has learned a valuable lesson but it doesn't mean he is a bad lad for ever more or needs the misery piling on.

I still think he should take proper advice before accepting a revoke, I certainly would. Or just reapply in a couple of years when it has blown over.

Even though your post was predictable even before I read it I wasn't referring to you specifically so you'll have to have a long hard think as to whether you feel you fit the description. Regardless we've all done silly things, let him without sin cast the first stone as they say.

Well done for confessing but i think you knw you have brought this on yourself without us telling you.

I am very careful with speed as i need to drive for my job. Not sure if it is urban myth or not but i am sure i read that if you clock up a number of points in a short space of time, the police can class it as " not showing due respect for the law" and revoke your ticket.

I am happy to be corrected on this.

but have they all been on the wrong side of the road, wich would probably be classed as dangerous driving, I think that's probably why he was banned not just the speed

hardly crime of the century. no one got hurt. you could postulate about potential consequences all day long about any action you carry out in life.

You'e wrong. Tage are used in some circumstances for people released from prison early but they are also used in the absence of a prison sentence being passed simply to monitor a curfew order.

A tag on its own is not a prison sentence and does not make you a prohibited person.

Although I give the original poster full credit for his admissions & genuinely feel sympathy,I won't comment on fairness:we all have our own views. However I wish the justice system would have the same life changing impact on career criminals, burglars & low lifes that those with jobs, reputations and licences etc. suffer for one brush with the law

It's a tough lesson to learn but you need to learn the lesson, which I think you have and move on. Get a standard air rifle and start getting your credentials sorted for your re-application. Goes without saying stay squeaky clean, check your light bulbs every time you go out at night, keep to speed limits, stop on amber. Then you may be on the right track to start again. All the best mate.

Maybe I was a bit harsh bud, we've all done silly stuff in our teens, just remember a car is just as dangerous as a firearm, I,m sure you will think before you do in the future,

Possibly a bit harsh to revote but they're just playing it safe and I suspect your age had quite a bit to do with the decision.

A hard lesson perhaps but it obviously could have been a LOT worse on many counts. Sounds like like it's a lesson you wont forget in a hurry so perhaps its done you a favour? You might not see that now, but in years to come you will. We've all done stupid things in the past and anyone who says they haven't is a bloody liar or lived a very sheltered life, so don't take some of the comments on here personally. As somone else said, keep your nose clean and you'll be able to reapply in a few years. At the end of the day, you're young, got your life in front of you and all this silliness will be a distant memory in a blink of an eye.

All the best :good:
