Suffolk shooter
Personally, I love English Skeet although I have still to shoot 25 straight and keep getting 23 or 24 ex 25. Tried NSSA Skeet at Lakenheath and found it not to different again shooting 23 or 24 ex 25 (Didn't go in the middle on stand eight). The whole thing about concentration and replicating the same shot but from different angles appeals to me, it's also a very good discipline to teach newcomers to the sport about angles of shot. Whats yours??? :(
MC
Sporting for me, Anything that requires too much concentration is out. And I find skeet and DTL start to get boring, usually around the same time as I start to miss them. So that is stand 4 on skeet. I just like the variation in sporting and am never worried about clays that get blown around by the wind, it just adds to the realism. Although I must admit that Target Rifle shooting is becoming addictive.
Suffolk shooter
Sporting for me, Although I must admit that Target Rifle shooting is becoming addictive. I must admit after shooting 4 ex 5 in the bull at Bisley open day on the 300 yd range, I could take it up as well. I'm suprised you say about concentration being your downfal, surely you need that even more so for target rifle?
MC
It is a different sort of concentration, in TR you get as much time as you need to take the shot. and if it doesn't look right then you can take a breather and start again. Although last night was apalling. I only shot one card as a twinge in my back was stopping me getting comforable. I dropped from 98/100 last week to 92/100 last night. You can't do that with a clay whizzing accross the range.
pin
If I had to say a favourite it would be sporting, but I like all the different types I have tried, all 3 of them :( Skeet I thought I would hate but I love it, still not shot 25ex25 but I have had 23's, I think I have only shot 6 rounds. I quite like DTL as well, I can't remember scores but I have shot 3 rounds I think and managed 22/25 targets, no idea of the score though. I tend not to shoot the second barrel, which I probably should Still new and very interesting, I would love to try some of the other disciplines too, FITSAC/OT etc

pin
Ah, I have heard of those they have them at the A1sg near me, £1.30 a target for a simulated pigeon? They must be having a laugh! I might clatter one to say I have, i'd rather shoot the real thing for >10p a go :(
Markio
Sporting for me. Like martin i like the totally different presentation you get. The idea of skeet bores me a bit (and i'm just not quick enough yet!). DTL i've tried once and enjoyed it, maybe it was the momentum we all had. Sporting all the way and if the ground had a DTL range maybe a bit of that for fun at the end.
the last engineer
love shooting any discipline with a shotgun, learnt on skeet, which IMO is still the best cource/game for instruction to new guys, dtl or trap as its known here is like drywalling asleep at the second stand, 5 stand and make a break are great competition games held in a more local or restricted ground area, another good training ground for newbies, sporting is th love though not done much FITAS as its not that well established here in Alberta, as far as the targets go im sure there are similarities but a vis home should cure that myth, international skeet and trap ss dbs can wake a guy up thats for sure, basicaly "anywhere the bird flys dosent realy matter to me,,,, to me ,,,,,mama i just shot a bird " dam that song :( . Poacher
sporting for me, good variety and get a bit of banter walking round the ground, although i like em all really, i'd probably prefer skeet+DTL if i had more time to practise and money to spend on cartridges :(
tosspot
the FITASC bug is starting to bite, take the harder elements of sporting and shoot gun down Skeet and DTL used to appeal and worked hard at them but once straighted (25) the allure was gone, although anyone that shoots these disciplines over 100 birds has my utmost respect. ABT is the one that is next on the list for me

ABT is the one that is next on the list for me did you not want to run the next 25 for 50 and so on, i can tell you i did ran to truck for more shells, didnt make it for a week after, then 75, 100, 125, the alure could never wear off its one of those games the morte you play the more you need to play, not to take anything out of trap or bunker, all disciplines are tough to maintain a top score, personaly i like to keep up in as many as possible. njc110381
Being so new, I've only ever shot skeet. It's great to get the basics of shooting, as you can work out what you done wrong last time and have another go at the same target again until you master it. So it's the obvious choice for me. I'd imagine once you learn your lead etc for targets, and get to be a better shot, it may get rather boring shooting at the same thing all the time? I like the look of the more random targets, that are closer to rough shooting shots, but I probably wouldn't hit much at the moment!

BTMS
I liked English skeet shooting about 300 a week then it got boring, found sporting LOVED IT then FITASC Tried down the line Could not hit a barn door. Was on a 100 straight once got complacent and missed the last house on the pair and repeat Also would like to try Helice.
