mickyh
Great photo! I used to live in Dalwhinnie, about 25 miles south of Aveimore. We used to see Crossbills, very, very rare now. I also get Greater Spotted Woodpeckers in my garden, feeding on the peanuts. I've never seen such aggressive birds! If they are feeding, nothing else does. Well Done

migster
Nice pic Doc! you could try Rothiemurchus trout fishery which is just outside Aviemore, its on the road up to the Cairngorms. They have a hide there and if you get there early you see all sorts of wild life, in summer you get the Osprey coming into the loch for trout. A lot of the good photos you see of Osprey catching trout are from here, not sure that they will be around at this time of the year. Rothiemurchus forest is great for all sorts of wildlife but the weather can be grim at time especially for photography. Good luck and have a nice trip.
