Bloke
when they left you should have ran into the street yelling "which one of you **** grassed me up"
glb8686
Start acting suspicious. Dispose of all your waste by putting it in body bag like bags and carrying it to your motor at night looking really shifty. Maybe leave some 'blood stained' sheets hanging out of your bin too! That'll give them something to talk about if their gonna be nosey!
phaedra1106
We moved into a bungalow in an "over 55s" area, right at the top of the cul-de-sac in January, almost all of the new neighbours are in their late 60's to 80's and there's a lot of curtain twitching going on!. Notified Plod of the change of address and got a call the next morning, FEO was on his way for a visit. Really nice chap, no problems at all except he'd came in an oversized transit with POLICE in 3 foot letters plastered all over it!. On the up side my neighbours now think I must be a very naughty boy and keep away from me!, luckily the nice woman next door knows we shoot and is perfectly OK with it, even thought it was funny listening to the old folk prattle on about what I could have been up to

Frenchieboy
I wouldn't be the slightest bit worried if if a couple of the Armed Response guys turned up to check my cabinet or guns, nor would any of my neighbours. I live in a block of 32 flats that are occupied mainly by senior citizens. We all know each other and act as neighbours should do, we help each other out. My "neighbours" all know that I do a bit of shooting and many of them occasionally enjoy a few pigeon breasts, oven ready rabbits or a piece of venison from me. They have got used to a lot of my mates from the gun club and PigeonWatch members turning up and visiting me carrying their guns in slings. When they see any of my mates like that they just nod a "hello" to them and often say something like "You must be some of Pete's mates". Why would they think differently if a couple of armed response guys turned up - At least it would give them something to talk/laugh about later! pigeonblasterian
It has always been uniformed police that have been to me when dealing with sgc or fac. Not bothered at all it will give neighbours something to talk about.

garden gun
In the same vein we had a bit of a laugh a few years ago. Filled in a card about FIRE safety downtown at an 'elf and safety fair. TWO YEARS later a full fire truck and crew turn up one evening to review fire safety - ladders off to fit smoke alarms etc. Twitching curtains or what..........lucky we know the neighbours. Agree about anonymity of shooters if we do go national on uniform doing FEO duties though. Personally if a suitably trained uniform turns up would not cause me concern. Paul223
greet them in the street and shake their hands, then ask (and gesture) then to come in, curtain twitchers will then know nowt is wrong Edited March 13, 2013 by Paul223
Salop Matt
Those that prefer the low profile approach, how do you carry your guns to and from the car? Well with a complete anti living next door who has made it clear how he feels about anyone owning even a catapult or air rifle I do what I can to avoid any ear ache, its just easyr that way. So I always have look out of the window first before going out with the rifle in its slip and if I know am going out I tend to pull the car right up the drive to buy the front door so i can swiftly take the rifle in its bag out of the house and straight into the car ! :DNo you shouldnt have to pander to them but I dont need to go looking for arguments or troubles.ATBMatt
