Jc100
Hi all, I'm new to the forum but have been shooting for about 5 years, mainly clays and some pigeon. I've got a few game days booked for the autumn and keen to start game shooting. I'm looking for a new gun, currently got a beretta silver pigeon 1 sporter and very happy with it. I'm looking of another gun as the cabinet is looking rather empty! I can afford about £3.5-£4k and have eyeballed the 687 eell and 725 grade 5 sporters, any advice out there or any better guns s/h or new for the same money? Browning 425 clay hunter
I was at hodnet on Wednesday and after being caught eyeing the 725 in the shop they allowed me to use it for the second half of the day, felt fantastic. Really well balanced and loved the swelled palm grip. Very comfy in the hand. Also had a couple of shots with a so3 EELL one of my mates brought. It felt a different class and I'm not a beretta fan. But I think that one was about 5/6k. Both fantastic guns and at that price I personally would be going shooting them side by side, see which one fits best and that you shoot best with. Either way both fantastic guns. Keep us informed on which one you go for. ATB

plank06
If your happy with Beretta, Stick with it! Although the 725 Is a lovely looking bit of kit!
figgy
I'd go with the Beretta it should hold that value and go up in the future. Figgy
rimfire4969
If you like you silver pigeon go EELL. It is one gun on my list to have. But a lot of my shooting is walk one stand one and I don't think it would be fair on a EELL.
countryman
There is a new Browning Heritage coming out soon, it may all ready be available, it has the best deep scroll engraving and being a Browning will be a top gun as standard, it may be above your price range though. browning123
Keep clear of the Brownings with American Walnut stocks there is a problem with them cracking, I owned a Browning 125 "C" Grade for 22 years and had the stock replaced three times due to cracking & splitting, the first time on guarantee. I eventually p/x'd it for a Beretta - mine was not an isolated case!
poorpeet
I love my 725 but if you are happy with your Beretta then the EELL is prob the way to go. I sold a Miroku that I shot well with & got a 682 Gold E. ******** me up big style & I couldn't get it to work. Got the 725 but it's only now that I'm getting back into the groove. They do say you're either a Beretta or a Browning man. I'd always thought it wouldn't matter but it seems I was wrong.
