markfromholland
Hi everyone, This is Mark from Gouda in Holland. We hunt ducks, pigeons, hare and geese. Every once in a while we go to germany for roe deer and wild boar. I have been reading here on PW quite a while now, so i thought it was time to introduce myself. Blunderbuss
Hi Mark and welcome. I think I read about an attempt to outlaw sporting shooting in Holland in one of our shooting magazines recently? I seriously hope that's been defeated?

markfromholland
Thanks for the warm welcome ! I will answer some questions as posted above: Lead shot, well i got my permit after the lead shot ban, so i am used to shooting steel shot. My hunting mate has been hunting for 30+ years and he claims that shooting lead shot made life easier. Decoys, we use the fud's for geese and mallard, but i am planning to switch to plastics again, as setting 20+ fuds up in the dark takes quite some time. Huntingban: well this is where a small country goes bananas. people behind desks in big cities make the rules overhere, one lady of the government even thought that roedeer are also on the hunting species list, this proves that she does not know what she is saying. Roedeer are not hunted here, but they are being controlled. Anyway, until now there are only plans about closing the hunt for: hare, mallard duck, and feasants. The other species are to be "controlled", this involves papers, permits etc etc. We have to sit back and wait what will happen. Thanks
ditchman
are you allowed to use "electric" decoy systems such as magnets and flappers.......
markfromholland
are you allowed to use "electric" decoy systems such as magnets and flappers....... No, no electrical stuff, also no electric calls. That is a shame as these work really well. Thanks, Mark
