steve_b_wales
Has anyone travelled to the above airport from south Wales, if so, is it better to go on the M4/M5 or via the M50? There's not a lot of difference mileage wise, and I'll be travelling there on a Sunday, arriving back on a Monday.
pegasus bridge
I would always use the M50 from south wales to the midlands... Nicer road, just got to watch speedtraps!
HDAV
I would always use the M50 from south wales to the midlands... Nicer road, just got to watch speedtraps!40mph average on alot of the 50 at the moment, better go M4/M5 come back M50! That's what I do when going to the midlands depends how far west you are really and check traffic reports before you get to Newport and switch if problems Edited July 27, 2013 by HDAV
steve_b_wales
I'm in RCT. I think I'll go via the M4/M5 and possibly come back on the M50 (early hours) as mentioned.
malkiserow
If very heavy rain avoid M50 as it can be a nightmare

M5, M4 is best, I am 3 minutes from the airport but go to fish in Gower fairly regularly and that's the way I go. PM me if you are flying Monarch. Catweazle
Set the SatNav to 'quickest' route and let her do the rest. Have you ever tried it in Wales ? I've been down many roads with both mirrors touching the hedges because of Sat Nav.
HDAV
Have you ever tried it in Wales ? I've been down many roads with both mirrors touching the hedges because of Sat Nav. Thats a main road! The sat nav wont account often account for the 40 mph average speed section on the M50 or the 50 mph average section on the M5.............
